For TNR Mohit, Chairman of Venice Livewires, cricket is not just about competition but about creating opportunities, developing talent and building a sustainable sporting ecosystem. As the franchise prepares for the upcoming Italia T10 League, Mohit is looking beyond the tournament, with an ambitious roadmap to contribute to the growth of Italian cricket through his Vision 2030.
At just 25, Mohit brings experience as a professional cricketer, franchise captain and team owner. Born in Hyderabad, he progressed through the Telangana age-group cricket structure before representing Hyderabad in the U-25 CK Nayudu Trophy and the Ranji Trophy setup. He later moved to Arunachal Pradesh, where he made an impressive first-class debut, claiming nine wickets against Sikkim. During the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, he finished as the state's highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets.
His cricketing journey has also included working as a net bowler with IPL franchises Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, providing him exposure to some of the highest standards of professional cricket.
Experience Beyond the Cricket Field
Mohit’s association with franchise cricket extends beyond playing. He has been both the owner and captain of Doiwala Kings, as well as the owner and captain of Nainital Tigers. Having led both franchises on and off the field, he has gained valuable experience in team ownership, squad building, player management and on-field leadership.
These experiences have helped him understand franchise cricket from both a player's and an owner's perspective, including team building, leadership, player development and management.
Vision 2030: Building the Future of Italian Cricket
The defining aspect of Mohit's vision for Venice Livewires is a long-term development plan aimed at strengthening Italian cricket through a phased approach.
The first year, beginning with the 2026 season, will focus on identifying promising Italian cricketers, selecting them into the franchise and providing them with their first exposure to professional franchise cricket.
From 2027 onwards, the focus will expand towards grassroots development, with initiatives to train Italian cricketers, develop local coaching talent and strengthen the cricketing foundation across the country.
The third phase will focus on providing Italian players and coaches with international and global exposure, creating opportunities to compete, learn and develop through wider cricketing networks. This will also support Italy's ambitions in the context of cricket's return to the Olympic programme at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
By 2030, the objective is to take Italian cricket to the next level by creating a stronger talent pool, more capable coaches and a sustainable pathway for players to compete at higher levels.
Mohit also sees this journey as an opportunity to establish stronger sporting and developmental ties between India and Italy.
The larger ambition is to encourage a collaborative ecosystem where Indian cricketing experience, coaching expertise and infrastructure knowledge can contribute to Italian cricket, while both countries grow together through the sport.
Strong Cricketing Leadership
Venice Livewires has strengthened its sporting structure with the appointment of former India cricketer and BCCI Chief Selector MSK Prasad as Team Director and Strategic Advisor. Prasad brings extensive experience in talent identification, cricket administration and player development. He has also served as Strategic Consultant and Director of Talent Search and Academies for Lucknow Super Giants.
The franchise is led by Arvind Tadakamalla, Managing Director of Livewires Advertising Private Limited, with Mohit serving as Chairman.
The leadership combines cricketing expertise, franchise experience and business management to support the team's immediate and long-term ambitions.
Beyond Italia T10
For Mohit, the upcoming Italia T10 League is an important starting point rather than the final destination. While building a competitive Venice Livewires squad remains the immediate priority, the larger objective is to contribute meaningfully to the future of Italian cricket.
Through Vision 2030, Venice Livewires aims to move beyond franchise participation and become part of a broader cricket development journey, creating opportunities for local talent and building stronger connections between India and Italy.
