New Zealand’s destructive opening batsman Finn Allen has signed up for Glasgow Cosmic in the European T20 Premier League (ETPL 2026), a development which CREX can exclusively confirm. The 27-year-old makes a dramatic u-turn on his decision to withdraw from the league, with the franchise he was set to be a part of.
Before the inaugural tournament started, Finn Allen was involved in the Scottish franchise's setup prior to withdrawing his services. But the destructive opener has now joined forces with the Scottish franchise on September 3, adding another massive weapon in T20 cricket to the ranks.
The timing of his signing will be of particular intrigue given his explosive recent T20 form across both recent seasons.
Finn Allen's addition boosts Glasgow Cosmic in ETPL 2026
In 2025, Allen put up 819 runs in 28 innings with an average of 30.3 and a strike rate of a magnificent 196.9.
One major performance in particular from last season stands out – in the first game of Major League Cricket 2025 playing for San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom.
Finn Allen hammered a stunning 151* off just 51 deliveries, including a world-record 19 sixes. He reached his century off just 34 deliveries and still holds the highest individual score in MLC as well as the most sixes scored in a single men’s T20 innings.
From there it has continued into the 2026 season where Allen has also shone at other franchise competitions. He was the leading scorer in BBL 15 in Perth Scorchers colours, scoring 466 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 184.18 which included a hundred.
He was instrumental in New Zealand's journey in the 2026 T20 World Cup having scored 298 runs in nine games, including a ferocious 33-ball century against South Africa – the fastest T20 World Cup century to date.

Allen also made significant contributions to Kolkata Knight Riders' batting line up in IPL 2026 where he scored 349 runs at a strike rate of over 200 including 93 off 35 balls against Gujarat Titans and a century against the Delhi Capitals.
With the inclusion of an already formidable top 11, Glasgow Cosmic look set to boast one of the most destructive top-order, powerplay hitting batsmen in world cricket with the addition of Finn Allen, even with him missing the start of ETPL 2026.
The final outcome sees Finn Allen return and a powerhouse addition made by Glasgow Cosmic at the top of the order.
