The English all-rounder Liam Livingstone, who played for SRH last season, could play for Chennai Super Kings or some other franchise in IPL 2027.
The hard-hitting all-rounder wasn't part of Hyderabad's best-suited combination, which featured Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Eshan Malinga and Heinrich Klaasen.
Alas, the Englishman could only feature in just two matches for the Orange Army, who bought him for a hefty price tag of INR 13 crore.
CSK in line to trade Liam Livingstone from SRH
According to a Cricbuzz report, CSK is among the IPL teams interested in trading for Liam Livingstone from SRH, who have yet to decide.
"A couple of IPL franchises, including CSK, have shown interest in the English all-rounder but Cricbuzz understands SRH are yet to make up their mind," the report stated.
The ever-attacking Livingstone, who can bowl both off-spin and leg-spin, would be perfect for Chennai, but their heavy investment in Matthew Short proved in vain.
Meanwhile, the Englishman could solve riddles for Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans - all of whom are looking for reliable middle-order batters. Notably, he started his journey with the Royals, and a homecoming story could also be possible.
Additionally, Livingstone is currently behind Heinrich Klaasen and Kamindu Mendis in SRH's pecking order. Thus, a trade would be a win-win situation for all the parties.
Liam Livingstone's resurgence could put him back in IPL spotlight
Liam Livingstone has played in the IPL since 2019, appearing in 51 matches for four teams, though his best season came in IPL 2022 with Punjab Kings.
Moreover, the white-ball specialist has been out of England’s plans for the the past year, last playing an international fixture in March 2025. He was pretty vocal after the snub from the 2026 T20 World Cup squad.
Nevertheless, since IPL 2026, Livingstone has been in tremendous form in every tournament that he has featured in.
Thus, the upcoming season of the toughest twenty would be crucial for him to get back in national reckoning.
