BCCI Confirms India U19 Squads For Sri Lanka Series 2026

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced India U19 women's squads for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Bhavika Ahire, who was on the bench during India’s famous Under-19 World Cup triumph last year in Kuala Lumpur, will captain in both One-Days and T20s when the two sides meet later this month.

As Bhavika’s deputy, Mahak Narwase will take the responsibility for both One-Days and T20s. On the other hand, K Deeksha has been picked as India U19’s primary wicket-keeper across formats, as confirmed by the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

There will be One-Days and T20s between India U19 and Sri Lanka U19, to be held in Chennai and Puducherry. The T20s will be on June 22, June 24, and June 27 in Chennai, while the One-Days will be on June 30, July 3, and July 6 in Puducherry.

Deeya Yadav Snubbed From T20s

Meanwhile, Deeya Yadav, who became the youngest-ever pick in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), did not get a place in T20Is. However, the 16-year-old is part of the ODI squad, whom Delhi Capitals signed for the last edition of the WPL.

Along with Bhavika, Mahak and Deeksha, Ira Jadhav, Ishwari Awasare, Purva Siwach, Gouri Goyal, and Janvi Vikar are some of the names who have been picked for both India U19 One-Day and T20 squads.

India U19 vs Sri Lanka U19 Women Match Timings

The T20 matches between India U19 Women and Sri Lanka U19 Women will begin at 1 PM IST in Chennai. The One-Day matches, on the other hand, will have 9 AM scheduled starts for the first two, and a 2 PM scheduled start for the last.

Not to forget, India U19 women won the World Cup in 2025 by defeating South Africa in the final. Gongadi Trisha was the player of the match in the most important match, having returned 3/15 and an unbeaten 33-ball 44 in the final in a tournament that was played in a T20 format.

In fact, Trisha was named the Player of the Tournament as well, courtesy of making 309 runs at a strike rate of 147.14, averaging over 77. She also picked up seven wickets in as many matches.
