Capping an eventful day in the world of cricket, here we take a look at five of the biggest cricketing news that emerged out of Sunday, March 15.

Salman Agha, Taskin Ahmed trade blows in Bangladesh win

Bangladesh secured a thrilling 11-run win over Pakistan in Mirpur in the third ODI to seal the three-match series 2-1. Batting first, a century from opener Tanzid Hasan helped the hosts mount 290-5 in 50 overs after losing the toss. Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy also chipped in with quick 40s.

In response, Pakistan slipped to 82-5 before a counterattacking century from Salman Agha steered them past the 250-run mark. Captain Shaheen Afridi also fired a quick 37, but a four-fer from Taskin Ahmed and a three-fer for Mustafizur Rahman folded up the ‘Men in Green’ for just 279 in the run chase.

Shubman Gill, Mandhana among others win BCCI Naman Awards 2026

India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, as well as women’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana won the Polly Umrigar Award under the ‘Best International Cricketer’ category for men’s and women’s cricket respectively at the 2026 BCCI Naman Awards. The Indian board also felicitated Rahul Dravid, Mithali Raj and Roger Binny with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the ceremony.

Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana, women’s rising star N Sree Charani, World Cup winner Shafali Verma among several others also won the awards under different categories during the celebrated BCCI evening.

Marnus Labuschagne available for Hyderabad Kingsmen for entire PSL 2026

Australian batting veteran Marnus Labuschagne is now available for the Hyderabad Kingsmen franchise for the entire PSL 2026 season, as opposed to his earlier claim of missing the initial few matches owing to domestic commitments. As it happened, Labuschagne’s domestic team, Queensland, has been knocked out of the 2025-26 Sheffield Shield, thus making him available for the tournament.

Earlier, the Kingsmen franchise had roped in senior all-rounder Glenn Maxwell as a cover for Labuschagne for the earlier stage of the PSL 2026 season.

Cameron Green storms back into form before KKR stint in IPL 2026

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green stormed back into form by charting an electrifying century against New South Wales. Batting at number four for Western Australia in match number 28 of the ongoing 2025-26 Sheffield Shield season, Green muscled 130* runs off 232 balls with six boundaries and five huge sixes in Sydney.

Finding himself among the runs after a lean T20 World Cup 2026 in Sri Lanka, Cameron Green’s counterattacking knock marked a great news for KKR fans as well as for the franchise overall ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 season.

Nqobani Mokoena decimates NZ to take South Africa 1-0 up

South Africa walloped New Zealand by a comfortable seven-wicket margin with 20 balls to spare in the first T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Bowling first, a three-wicket haul from Nqobani Mokoena and two wickets apiece from Gerald Coetzee, Ottneil Baartman and Keshav Maharaj helped the Proteas knock over the hosts for just 91.

In response, unbeaten opener Connor Esterhuizen compiled 45* off 48 balls to steer South Africa to a series-leading win.
