Bangladesh will travel to South Africa for an all-format series later this year in November, as Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday confirmed men’s home fixtures for the 2026-2027 season. The Tigers will play two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in South Africa, who currently hold the World Test Championship (WTC) mace.

South Africa will play as many as eight Test matches at home, three each against England and Australia. The remaining two, as mentioned above, will be against Bangladesh.

It is important to mention that the current WTC champions did not play a single home Test match during the 2025/26 season. However, they will now be busy with the title at the helm and ready to be defended.

“We have made a promising start to the new World Test Championship cycle and it is important that we continue to build on that momentum and strengthen our position on the WTC table," CSA chief executive Pholetsi Moseki said in a statement.

"On the white-ball front, our focus remains firmly on building towards hosting the ICC men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027. Every ODI series from here forms part of our preparation for that global event."

For the context, South Africa are currently placed third on the WTC standings, having won three out of four outings. Two of them came against India, while they drew Pakistan Tests with a 1-1 scoreline.

Australia and New Zealand are currently the top two sides in the latest WTC standings. Australia have won seven out of eight matches, while New Zealand have won twice and drew one.

Australia Returns To South Africa Tests First Time After Sandpaper-Gate Scandal

In another significant development, Australia will visit South Africa for the first time for a red-ball series since 2018, when they made headlines for an unwanted reason – the Sandpaper-Gate incident in Cape Town. In fact, the home season will begin with Australia’s assignment, which includes three ODIs and as many Tests.

The Bangladesh series will take place in South Africa after that, and it will end with the England challenge.
