Bangladesh were humbled when they were kicked out of the T20 World Cup just before it was about to begin across India and Sri Lanka.

It all began with Mustafizur Rahman IPL ban, as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) decided not to have him for the ongoing edition due to sudden geopolitical tensions between India and them.

Notably, KKR signed Mustafizur for a whopping INR 9.2 Crore in the last IPL auction, only to release him a few days later. Later, the ICC replaced Bangladesh with Scotland to avoid any disruptions in the T20 World Cup schedule.

Even though Scotland did not do much in the T20 World Cup 2026, aside from the 73-run victory over Italy, it is safe to say that the BCB-owned nation might have done better than Scotland had they been given the opportunity.

Nevertheless, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided to go to that country now, raising many eyebrows.

Bangladesh Women Tour Of Scotland Schedule Out

As times have changed, the BCB has moved on from the development of what happened in the T20 World Cup. They have made up their mind to travel to Scotland, and their country’s women team will go there as part of their Women’s T20 World Cup preparations.

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will have 33 matches across seven venues in England and Wales. The tournament will begin on June 12, with the final scheduled for July 5.

Just before the mega event, the BCB decided to have a tour in Scotland for a tri-nation series. Apart from  and the country which replaced them in the T20 World Cup 2026, the Netherlands will participate in the tournament.

Bangladesh In T20 World Cup 2026 For Women

Despite Bangladesh’s absence in the T20 World Cup 2026 for men, their women’s team will be there for the upcoming mega event for the shortest format.

In fact, they are pooled in the same group with India, along with the Netherlands, Pakistan, Australia and South Africa.

Their women’s T20 World Cup journey will get underway on June 14, against the Netherlands. They will next face Australia, Pakistan and India next, on June 17, June 20 and June 25, respectively.

Nigar Sultana Remains Their Women's Captain

Women's team captain Nigar Sultana recently faced many challenges, which involved serious allegations against her, made by her former teammate Jahanara Alam.

Thankfully for Nigar, it did not do much damage to her reputation, as the case concluded.

Last time, New Zealand defeated South Africa in the Women’s T20 World Cup final in 2024. Back then, they only had one victory in five attempts.

Incidentally, their only victory came against Scotland, by 15 runs.
