Sonal Dinusha and Niroshan Dickwella achieved a remarkable feat in Sri Lanka's first Test against India at the Galle International Stadium. The left-handed batting pair formed a valiant stand for the sixth wicket, keeping the Indians at bay throughout a wicketless second session on day 3 of the Test match.
After India posted 462 runs in their first innings, the Lankans had a torrid start to their innings, losing Nishan Madushka and Dinesh Chandimal in quick succession.
Lahiru Udara and Kamindu Mendis couldn't convert their starts into big scores, while skipper Dhananjaya de Silva fell prey to Ravindra Jadeja for 21 runs.
Sonal Dinusha and Niroshan Dickwella joined hands in the middle when Sri Lanka were tottering at 90 for five. The duo stitched a magnificent partnership for the sixth wicket, thereby creating a major record in the Galle Test.
