In a significant development, the BCCI has punished KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.
The 38th IPL 2026 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants witnessed a dramatic finish, as the tourists pipped the home team in the Super Over.

After the game concluded, the BCCI found the promising batter guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct and sanctioned him accordingly.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi dismissed for obstructing the field vs LSG
Young Indian batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was dismissed for obstructing the field in KKR's most recent match against LSG.
The incident happened in the fifth over of the Knight Riders' innings when Rishabh Pant brought the in-form Prince Yadav into the attack for the first time in the match.
After conceding only six runs off his first five balls, Prince bowled a good-length delivery, which Raghuvanshi clipped to the mid-on.
The young cricketer called for a single, but Cameron Green turned down his request for a risky run when he had already come a long way down the track.

Mohammed Shami threw the ball towards Rishabh Pant to run him out; however, the ball hit Angkrish Raghuvanshi right on his body while he was trying to get back into the crease with a full-stretched dive.
As things panned out, the the LSG players appealed for an 'obstructing the field' dismissal. TV umpire Rohan Pandit went through multiple visuals before declaring Raghuvanshi out.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi sanctioned for violating IPL code of conduct
After the TV umpire decided in the Super Giants' favour and asked Raghuvanshi to make his way back to the dugout, the KKR batter openly expressed his anger by striking the boundary cushion and throwing his helmet in frustration.
Therefore, the match referee found him guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match.”
As a result, the right-handed batter was penalised 20 per cent of his match fees by the BCCI, besides receiving a demerit point for his controversial act.
KKR defeat LSG despite Raghuvanshi's batting failure
Angkrish Raghuvanshi had a stellar start to the IPL 2026, amassing impactful half-centuries against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
However, his form dipped as the tournament progressed, with the batter recording low scores against Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and LSG.
His dismissal left the Knight Riders reeling at 27 for three after five overs. But despite such a horrible top-order collapse, KKR bounced back and posted a respectable total of 155 runs, courtesy of Rinku Singh's valiant half-century.
In response, the Super Giants lost their in-form batter Mitchell Marsh early in the contest. Although Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni played valuable knocks and Mohammed Shami struck 11 runs off just six balls, the game entered the Super Over, where KKR comfortably edged past their counterparts.
