22 days, 34 games, one champion! Rinku Singh-led Meerut Mavericks completely outshone Bhuvneshwar Kumar-led Lucknow Falcons in the UP T20 2026 final to clinch their second title in four seasons. They have won titles in every alternative years and every victory is special. They were the team to beat this season and they kept their rhythm till the summit clash to win the tournament. This trophy belongs to Rinku, Divyansh Joshi, Swastik Chikara, Zeeshan Ansari, Vishal Chaudhary, Kartik Tyagi and every other cricketer in the Mavericks camp.
Rinku Singh collects the UP T20 2026 Trophy and his teammates join him on the podium. It is absolute scenes here at Lucknow as the celebrations galore and firework illuminates the night sky. Now, the entire Meerut Mavericks team is posing behind the banner for a victory photograph, with medals around their neck. They have conquered the title for the second time.
Rinku Singh (Meerut Mavericks Captain): "(God's plan or Rinku's plan?) God's plan. If he is there, we all are there.
(As a captain, is it a special feeling to win the title?) Yes it is. We worked really hard to reach the final and eventually won it. Every cricketer put in a lot of effort. Our coaching staff, UT sir and Arvind sir helped us a lot. Our batting coach came from England and he helped the team. For me, the tournament went well.
(What changed after the first qualifier against Lucknow Falcons?) It was a bit on skill and a bit on the mindset. We planned a lot on how we could have played Bhuvi bhaiya. We tried to use our crease against him and said our batters to keep the belief on how they have played. Divyansh Joshi batted in an outstanding way today.
(Divyansh played at five, but came to open today. Was anything special in his pre-match diet?) I won't say about diet, but I knew how he batted, I saw him in the nets. He batted exactly how he bats at the net. UD sir and Arvind sir said to make him open the batting tonight.
(Did your hair turn grey as a captain?) No it is black now (chuckles).
(As a captain, what are your learnings?) It was challenging to make the team, talk to the players, lead and plan in the ground. I tried to bowl a bit and that is actually an advantage as you do not have to discuss with others (chuckles)."

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Lucknow Falcons Captain): "(What did cost you more? Giving away extra runs or the bad start in the chase?) I would say both. It was such a game where our batting and bowling was the worst in the season. But the credit goes to how they batted, specially Divyansh. We came back well in the last 8 overs. I know it should not be said like that, but our batting was the worst today in this tournament. Unluckily it came in this game.
(When you lead the team in such a dressing room where there are a lot of youngsters, how do you change your style?) Yes it is necessary to change. I have gone through that phase where the youngsters make mistake and senior correct them. I know how to ease out their nerves and get along with their thoughts. I know they are youngsters and they will make mistakes. Unluckily that came in the final. Our campaign went well and I would like to give credit to everyone.
(Overall, name a few youngsters who have impressed you?) I would take Ajeet's (Verma) name first. There is a rule that we can take seven players outside of the auction and we took him from there and he impressed. He has the ability to play as per the situation. Himanshu, Vikas are there. Two or three positive names are there.
(14 wickets. How has been the challenge for Bhuvneshwar Kumar?) I think there is discipline of course. I do not challenge myself. I played at a higher level, it is easy to see that UP T20 is a lower level tournament, but at the end of the day, it is cricket. We all saw how Divyansh Joshi batted. He showed some capability. There are batters who challenge you and I just try to do better.
(What more is on Bhuvneshwar Kumar's wish list?) It is big. But I will accept anything as it comes."

Prashant Veer (MVP & Noida Kings Captain): "(On winning the MVP award) It feels really good, sir, especially for me, because this is an achievement for me. And it would have felt even better if we had been in the finals here.
(On getting rest now) Yes, sir. Now it's all about resting after that day. After that, the season starts.
(Personal challenges) Personally, I had set very high expectations for myself, but that didn't happen in the initial matches. Then I spoke to someone, an elder brother, and he told me not to put too many expectations on myself because that would help me perform better. So I did exactly that, and gradually I kept getting better.
(On pressure as a player and as a captain) Absolutely. The pressure on me was that the team was depending on me a lot. So I spoke to my elder brother, and he explained that I should play my natural game. If you perform well, only then will the team win. So I focused more on that, and things gradually started getting better.
(Message to youngsters in his side) I told them that in today's T20 game, it's about taking things one day at a time. Try to give your 100 percent every day. Every day is not going to be the same, so there will be good days and bad days. You have to remain the same throughout—don't get too happy and don't get too sad. That's the only thing I used to tell them."
