Anurag: That's it from the comm box, we'll be back on Wednesday for the coverage of the third T20I between the two teams. Till then, bye and goodnight from me, Anurag Dasgupta, and my co-commentators, Vikhyat and Arijit.
Heinrich Klaasen | winning captain: Pleased about our execution. The guys were waiting for the opportunity and executed and that's what put a smile on my face. The wicket was good. Still was a 180-190 wicket, our bowlers bowled extremely well today. The message was to be positive. We wanted to play smart cricket and also aggressive cricket. That's why we finished the game in 14 overs.
George Linde: Player of the Match: It's never easy bowling in the powerplay as a spinner. We had a game plan and it played in our favour. Personally it was a big confidence booster to get a wicket first ball. I thought the pitch was okay (smiles).
Anurag: George Linde was adjudged the man of the match for picking up 3 wickets and scoring a quick fire 20.
Babar Azam | losing captain: We lost early wickets and didn't get momentum. I thought we were a tad too aggressive, we needed a partnership and they bowled well too. Hopefully we will come back better.
Anurag: Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. They got off to a horrendous start, losing the man in-form, Mohammad Rizwan for a first ball duck. Soon the other opening batter, Sharjeel Khan departed and Pakistan at one stage were tottering at 5 for 2 when Babar Azam joined hands with Mohammad Hafeez and steadied the ship for the team. The South African spinners kept it tight and Hafeez was eventually dismissed for a quickfire 32. Wickets kept on tumbeling and Babar Azam was the lone warrior, scoring a run-a-ball 50 to take his side to a decent total of 140.
Anurag: Markram continued his good form in the T20 series and looked like a man possessed. He played some exquisite shots to bring up his second fifty of the series. By the time Markram departed for a well compiled 54, the game was almost out of Pakistan's reach. Heinrich Klaasen and George Linde provided some lusty blows and took the Proteas past the victory line.
Anurag: Chasing a mere target of 141, South Africa got off to a flyer with both Janneman Malan and the man in-form, Aiden Markram going berserk right from the word go. The duo hammered the Pakistan bowling attack all over the park and stitched an opening stand of 44 before Malan was foxed by a peach of a slower delivery by Hasan Ali.
Anurag: That’s it, the game is done and dusted and South Africa have demolished Pakistan by 6 wickets in the second T20I. A thorough professional performance from the Proteas who have levelled the 4-match series 1-1. In the end the target of 141 was never going to trouble the South African batters and they reached the finishing line with 36 balls to spare.
