That's the end of our coverage for this game. But don't you worry, we have cricketing action lined up for you. Do join us for the live coverage of the India vs England, where India has almost wiped the English tail. This was it from my side, it's me Arjun Bhalla signing out of the behalf of my co-commentator, Anurag Singh. Merci beaucoup!
Mahmudullah: It's very pleasing to see Afif and Sohan stand up, carry us to the end. Showed maturity. And up front our bowlers did very well to restrict them to 120. But Shakib was very important with bowling and batting, shows how important he is to the team. Losing few early wickets causing tension in the dressing room, but the way Afif and Sohan (Nurul batted), it was a lot of relief. I think Mustafizur has always been there in these conditions, and effective too. Shoriful bowled really well and all the bowlers chipped in too. We are taking it game by game.
Afif Hossain | Player of the Match: When I came, I thought I have to stay in the wicket till the end. Whatever the required rate may be, I knew I could manage. We knew we had to stay calm, keep wickets in hand. Sohan (Nurul) bhai played well so there was no pressure on me either.
Afif Hossain gets the Man of the Match Award for his unbeaten 37 that took Bangladesh home.
Matthew Wade: We were in a good position today (with the ball), but unfortunately we struggled the bat in the last four overs. Very disappointing. We were in a good position to get 130s-140s, a good score on this track. Their quicks took pace off well, and we'll look to do better there. The bowlers from both teams have been terrific, we are happy how they are going. Agar was terrific again. Our bowling is definitely not the problem. We've had a game where the top wasn't great, and this time our bottom half with the bat wasn't.
Presentation ceremony to begin shortly.
Arjun: Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan sewed a match-winning 56-run partnership. The duo played maturely as they didn’t take too much of risk. As the target was never out of reach, the pair just rotated the strike around and released the pressure by smoking some boundaries, when needed. As in the end, Bangladesh sealed the deal by five wickets, with 8 ball remaining. The home team now takes a 2-0 lead in this five-match series.
Arjun: Australia introduced Agar in the last over of the powerplay. The left-arm spinner was all over the host batters but luck wasn’t on his side. He almost did both Shakib and Mahedi on a couple of occasions, as they miscued the ball in the air.. but it always dropped safely. Agar even trapped Al Hasan on the front pad, before review saved the Bangladeshi all-rounder. Eventually, Shakib was undone by a Tye knuckleball, Agar got his reward in Mahmudullah, while Zampa drew Mahedi out of the crease to get him stumped. But it wasn’t meant to be.
Arjun: One would always think about starting with someone like Ashton Agar, after seeing what Shakib and Mahedi did, but Wade started with his strengths and his strengths delivered. Starc tested Bangladesh’s openers with his pace and zip. He even banged one delivery on Naim’s head, but the youngster was undone by Hazlewood, before Starc broke the first wicket in the form of Sarkar.
Arjun: This Mirpur pitch was a typical sub-continent one. To be honest, there wasn’t much turn on offered, but the ball was gripping and the spinners had everything to enjoy here. Both teams played on their strengths, when it came to bowling. Earlier in the day, we witnessed Bangladesh going on to attack with spin. However, Australia’s Matthew Wade gave the new-ball to his main-men Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.
