On October 22, 2026, Harry Brook scored the fastest-ever double century in ODI cricket history as England amassed a whopping 429/4 against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.
Brook reached his 202 off 114 deliveries, surpassing India captain Shubman Gill’s feat (117) against the West Indies.
Meanwhile, Brook also became the first-ever England batter to score a double ton in the 50-over format. The previous highest individual score for England was Ben Stokes' 182 against New Zealand in 2023.
Although England went on to lose the match, as Sri Lanka chased down a historic target with a ball and two wickets to spare, Brook’s maiden double ton in the format will be remembered for years to come.
That being said, in this article, let’s take a look at the list of players with double centuries in ODI cricket.
Rohit Sharma - 3 ODI Double Centuries
The former India skipper, Rohit Sharma, holds a rare record that no other batter has matched or even come close in ODI history. The Indian batting stalwart is the only batter in the ODI history to smash three double centuries in the format.
He smashed his first ODI double ton in 2013, scoring 209 runs off just 158 balls against Australia. Furthermore, Rohit scored the highest-ever ODI individual score, smashing an unbeaten 264 off 173 balls against Sri Lanka in 2014.
Later in 2017, he scored his career’s third ODI double century, 208 runs off just 153 balls, and went unbeaten against Sri Lanka .
Shubman Gill - 2 ODI Double Centuries
India’s ODI captain, Shubman Gill, has scored two double centuries in the format, becoming only the second batter in the men’s ODI history after Rohit Sharma to achieve multiple double hundreds.
Gill scored an ODI 200 against New Zealand in Hyderabad in 2023, and he repeated the feat in Guwahati with 200 runs off just 117 deliveries.
Sachin Tendulkar
History was made on February 24, 2010, in Gwalior, when the legendary Sachin Tendulkar became the first batter to score a double century in ODIs - a breathtaking, unbeaten 200 off 147 balls.
The knock came against South Africa, which had Dale Steyn, Waype Parnell, Jacques Kallis, Roelof van der Merwe, Charl Langeveldt and JP Duminy in their bowling attack.
Tendulkar smashed 25 fours and 3 sixes as India posted 401/3 in their 50 overs.
Martin Guptill
On March 21, 2015, New Zealand’s Martin Guptill made the highest score in World Cup history with 237 not out against West Indies, sending his team into the semi-finals.
His 163-ball innings in Wellington featured 11 sixes and 24 fours, surpassing the 215 made by West Indies' Chris Gayle earlier in the tournament.
Virender Sehwag

Fakhar Zaman
In 2018, Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman became the first and only from his country to score an ODI double hundred. He achieved the feat against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. The left-hander ended his innings on 210 off just 156 balls.
Pathum Nissanka
Pathum Nissanka's 210* was the first-ever double-century for a Sri Lanka batter, and was also the highest-ever individual score for Sri Lanka in ODIs. He beat Sanath Jayasuriya's 24-year-old record. Jayasuriya had scored 189 against India in Sharjah in 2000.
Ishan Kishan
A 24-year-old Ishan Kishan hit the then-fastest double century in the 50-over format, smashing a sublime 210 against Bangladesh. Kishan reached 200 off just 126 balls.
It was only the ninth time a batter had hit a double ton in men’s ODIs. He struck 24 fours and 10 sixes in his stunning 131-ball knock, sharing a second-wicket partnership of 290 with Virat Kohli.
Glenn Maxwell
Glenn Maxwell (201*) scored an astonishing double century to help Australia qualify for the semi-finals at the ICC 2023 World Cup.
