Critics doubted Abhishek Sharma’s credentials when the Indian opener had a disastrous T20 World Cup 2026. Experts had written him off, but the SRH opener gave them a reality check as he showcased his best in the ongoing IPL 2026 season for the Sunrisers.

Abhishek unleashed his best form against the Delhi Capitals on Tuesday evening, as the SRH batter tore down the DC attack with ease, and smashed a 47-ball century to shatter the opposition bowlers’ confidence.

This was Abhishek’s second IPL century, and in the process, he broke multiple records as SRH posted 242/2 in their allotted 20 overs. The left-handed batter scored an unbeaten 135, and created a new record, as this was the highest individual score in the ongoing season.

1) Abhishek Sharma (135* vs Delhi Capitals)

On a flat Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium surface, Abhishek Sharma unleashed mayhem as he took down DC in a breathtaking assault. He smashed his fifty in just 25 balls, and then took just 22 deliveries to complete his hundred.

Abhishek scored a record-breaking 135*, laced with 10 fours and 10 sixes as the Capitals had no answer against his batting. This was his second-highest score in IPL, with the previous one being a brilliant 141.

2) Sanju Samson (115* vs Delhi Capitals)

Delhi Capitals were once again at the receiving end when they faced the wrath of CSK opener, Sanju Samson. Up until the game against the Capitals, Samson was in poor for in the IPL 2026, but against them, he showcased his class.

While his partner, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was dismissed early, Samson stole the show as he and youngster Ayush Mhatre dismantled the Delhi Capitals attack. Samson struck a brilliant 115* off 56 balls, laced with 15 fours and 4 sixes. His brilliant knock was the second highest individual score in the ongoing IPL.

3) Quinton de Kock (112* vs Punjab Kings)

With Rohit Sharma injured, MI needed a new opening partner for Ryan Rickelton, and out came Quinton de Kock against the Punjab Kings. He was playing his first game of the IPL 2026 season, and the left-handed opener made the most of his opportunity.

Against a lacklustre Punjab Kings attack, de Kock was the lone warrior as he hammered his third IPL century (112* off 60 balls), and helped the Mumbai side reach a decent 195 on the board. Apart from MI, de Kock also has IPL hundreds for DC and LSG.

4) Tilak Varma (101* vs Gujarat Titans)

Before the IPL match vs the Titans, Tilak Varma was out of form. However, in a crucial game for the Mumbai team, the southpaw rose to the occasion as he single-handedly destroyed GT’s bowling attack.

He scored 101* off 45 balls, which was the joint-fastest IPL century by an MI player. Also, he smacked 82 runs in his last 23 deliveries to help MI win the contest.

5) Priyansh Arya (93 vs Lucknow Super Giants)

On a belter of a wicket, Priyansh Arya, the Punjab Kings opener decided to torment the LSG bowlers as he missed out on a well-deserving century by the barest of margins, but he hammered 93 quickfire runs inside 37 deliveries.

The aggressive southpaw slammed 4 fours and 9 sixes, with a strike rate of 251, as Punjab Kings posted 254/7.
