Axar Patel elects to bowl first vs SRH [Source: AP]
Two teams that are riding high on confidence will battle against each other in Hyderabad as SRH will take on the Delhi Capitals in a riveting IPL 2026 contest. DC won their last match against the favourites, RCB, while SRH have won their last two IPL games against RR, and CSK.
Under skipper Ishan Kishan, SRH started slowly, but in the last two IPL games, the Orange Army has truly joined the party with their bowlers rising to the occasion in both matches. They still have a lot of work to do, and at home, SRH will start as slight favourites.
On the other hand, DC have witnessed a topsy-turvy tournament so far, but in the last match against RCB, the side finally showcased their finishing abilities as David Miller sealed the win for the Capitals. A win for either of the two sides could potentially help them jump to second position (provided they win big).
Ahead of the SRH Vs DC IPL 2026 match, here is who won the toss today in this crucial IPL fixture at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
SRH Vs DC IPL 2026 toss update
Delhi Capitals won the toss yet again and skipper Axar Patel had no hesitation in bowing first as chasing becomes easier under lights, and DC have done that well in the past. Axar is playing his 100th IPL match for the Capitals, and he'll be eager to round it off with a win.
The Capitals have made one change- Their 8.40 crore buy, Auqib Nabi is excluded, and Nitish Rana gets another chance.

SRH Vs DC: What the captains had to say
Axar Patel: "I am getting lucky in terms of the toss but had we won all the games as well, then it would have been ideal. We are going to bowl first.
(On playing his 100th IPL match) Thank you, thank you so much. I was not aware of this milestone. I never thought that I will play 100 games for Delhi. It's very nice to play your 100th match for a particular franchise and hope so that we end the match on a winning note.
(On keeping the team balanced) See obviously in order to keep the team balanced, you need to have a set XI and pick your XI according to the wicket. You need to have a flexible squad and I always tell the same in the team meeting that everyone should contribute for the team. We try to select the best XI for the team."
Ishan Kishan: "[On toss not going in his favour and having asked to bat first again] Yeah! I think it is hard to decide, but I don't think it is a similar track to the one we have played in the previous two matches. It all depends on how the wicket plays, and we play.
[On team combinations] We have a few changes. Madushanka comes in. Hinge might miss out. I am still not sure about it. Harsh Dubey comes in as well. We think the track might slow down a bit, and we need that wicket-taking option with the spin as well.
