Young Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma set the IPL 2026 stage on fire against Delhi Capitals as he slammed a blazing hundred. To add salt to DC’s wounds, he celebrated his milestone with an ice-cold move.
SRH batted first at the Uppal Stadium, and the openers started firing from the powerplay itself. Sharma and Travis Head stitched a 97-run opening stand, but Abhishek stood longer at the crease to make his knock count.
Abhishek Sharma celebrates his IPL hundred in style
Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma completely battered the Delhi Capitals’ bowling lineup with his explosive hitting. He achieved his century in just 47 balls with a huge six off Nitish Rana.
That marked Abhishek’s second hundred in the IPL, and he celebrated it with a cold move. He didn’t let out any roar or opt for animated moves. Instead, he folded his hands, smiled and looked at the crowd as if he was pretending that it was too easy for him.
Not only that, but Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran also appeared proud as she stood up and clapped hard for Abhishek Sharma.
Even Sharma’s family was present in the stands. His dad was excited and applauded him with great pride in his eyes. With that knock, Abhishek is now the new orange cap holder.

Abhishek Sharma trashes DC bowlers
Delhi Capitals simply had no answer to Abhishek Sharma. They couldn’t put a stop to his carnage as the opener finished with an unbeaten knock of 135 off 68 balls.
His knock included 10 fours and as many sixes as he batted with a strike rate of close to 200. Heinrich Klaasen supported him in the death overs with a quick 37 off 13 balls.
Owing to the duo’s carnage in the death overs, SRH managed to put 242 runs on the board at the loss of just 2 wickets.
For the Delhi Capitals, Mukesh Kumar and Nitish Rana conceded over 50 runs each. Only Axar Patel managed to get a wicket. No bowler from DC could maintain an economy below 10.
SRH continue their run-fest in the IPL
