The first-ever Men’s Twenty20 International (T20I) took place on February 17, 2005. However, only a couple of decades later, the format has left Test and One Day Internationals well behind, becoming a fan favourite.
The fast-paced nature of the T20Is exudes an unmatched level of thrill and high-octane entertainment. But one should not forget that the shortest format of the game is the least forgiving as well. It gives the batter no time to settle.
However, over the years, several batters have defied the odds and reached the three-figure magical mark in 5-6 overs or fewer.
Thus, in this article, take a look at the list of players with the fastest 100 in T20Is.
List: Fastest 100 in T20 Internationals (T20Is)
5) Rohit Sharma, Kushal Bhurtel, Sudesh Wickramasekara, David Miller: 35 Balls
All these players jointly hold the record for the fifth-fastest 100 in T20Is.
Rohit Sharma achieved the feat against Sri Lanka in Indore in December 2017. Kushal Bhurtel matched this 35-ball milestone against China in May 2026.
Moreover, Sudesh Wickramasekara equalled the record in a T20I match against Turkey in August 2019, and David Miller reached the mark against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom in October 2017.
4) Kushal Malla: 34 Balls
In 2023, Nepal’s Kushal Malla scored an unbeaten 137 runs off just 50 deliveries, hitting 12 massive sixes and 8 fours. Malla's innings helped propel Nepal to shatter multiple all-time team records in the same fixture.
His ton, along with Dipendra Singh Airee’s 10-ball 52, helped their team slam 314/3 against Mongolia, Nepal’s highest T20I team total and second overall.
3) Finn Allen, Sikandar Raza, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton: 33 Balls
These three international cricketers share the distinction of reaching the magical three-digit number in just 33 balls.
New Zealand power-hitter Finn Allen scored an unbeaten 100 off 33 balls against South Africa in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semifinal. His knock broke the previous T20 World Cup record (formerly held by Chris Gayle) and stands as the fastest T20I century against a Full Member nation.

Apart from that, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza achieved the feat against Gambia during a T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifier in 2024. This stands as the fastest century for a Full Member nation alongside Finn Allen.
Lastly, Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton struck a 33-ball ton against Nepal in Kitipur in 2024, etching his name in the history books for the third-joint fastest 100 in T20Is.
2) Muhammad Fahad: 29 Balls
Turkey’s Muhammad Fahad scored a blistering 29-ball century against Bulgaria in a T20I Tri-Series match in Sofia on July 12, 2025. This historic knock stands as the second-fastest century in Men’s T20 International history.
Fahad's explosion of power batting cemented his name in the T20 record books, allowing him to surpass several prominent international stars. The match was an absolute run-fest, with Fahad reaching his 50 off just 13 balls before bringing up his 100. His final strike rate for the innings stood at an astonishing 352.94.
1) Sahil Chauhan: 27 Balls
In 2024, Estonia batter, Sahil Chauhan, smashed a century off just 27 balls against Cyprus, and etched his name in the record books for the fastest 100 in T20Is.
Chauhan’s century also topped Chris Gayle's 30-ball bash in IPL 2013, to become the fastest century in T20s. Sahil Chauhan scored his runs at a scarcely believable strike rate of 351.21.
The Estonian batter took off straightaway, hitting 6, 4, and 6 in the first three legal deliveries he faced. Chauhan continued to deal in sixes, hitting four more off Chamal Sadun in the eighth over, and then hit three more in the next, off Neeraj Tiwari, the last one taking him to his century.
