South Delhi Superstarz secured the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2026) title as they beat Central Delhi Kings by seven wickets in the final at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 183, South Delhi Superstarz reached 186 in 18.2 overs to complete a memorable run chase. Anmol Sharma led the innings with 64 runs from 42 balls, including six fours and three sixes.
However, the final was ultimately decided by South Delhi Superstarz’s strong batting performance, maintaining a high scoring rate throughout the chase to clinch the coveted DPL trophy.
DPL 2026 portrayed a cauldron of young talent
The tournament, administered by the DDCA, concluded on August 30, 2026, putting elite young match-winners and top performers into the national spotlight.
A robust pipeline of young domestic players utilised the Indian Premier League-inspired platform to showcase raw talent under high-pressure scenarios.
Throughout the third edition of the DPL, a string of standout individual performances by these stars have emerged, showcasing the pure, raw talent in the national capital.
While Sarthak Ranjan and Anshuman Hooda were named the Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners, respectively, several other faces continuously lit up the competition with explosive knocks and equally decisive bowling.

As the season comes to an end, we have prepared the DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament. Take a look below!
Top-order: Sarthak Ranjan, Yash Dhull, Aryan Gaur
Sarthak Ranjan finished the season as the leading run-scorer and won the Orange Cap while captaining the North Delhi Strikers. Notably, the Delhi batter had secured an IPL contract with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Thus, returning after an IPL campaign, Sarthak made a mark in the DPL, amassing 493 runs across 9 innings. Though his team failed to qualify for the business end of the tournament, Sarthak once again impressed one and all with his explosive batting, with a strike rate of 167.68.
The Central Delhi Kings’ opener Yash Dhull had another outstanding campaign in the DPL 2026, captaining the team and finishing as the season’s ACE Super Striker for a blistering strike rate of 214.65.
Dhull, despite missing a few games in the later phases due to his participation in the Duleep Trophy 2026, scored 410 runs and is a certain in our DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
Aryan Gaur played some very crucial knocks for the Purani Dilli 6 in the 2026 edition. Batting at number 3, the right-handed batter, in his maiden DPL season, amassed 382 runs at an average of 42.44, at a healthy strike rate of 166.08.
Safe to say, these three batters complement each other at the top, with different playing styles and the ability to change gears according to the course of the game.
Middle-order: Jonty Sidhu, Tejasvi Singh Dahiya, Ayush Badoni
Veteran Delhi cricketer Jonty Sidhu had been the biggest asset to the finalist Central Delhi Kings. He smashed an unbeaten 106 off 46 balls to lead his side into the final of the DPL 2026.
Apart from this sensational batting performance, Sidhu also picked 3-25 to help his team get a 72-run victory over Purani Dilli 6 in Qualifier 2. It is worth noting that Sidhu’s all-round performance came right when the team needed it the most, in the absence of permanent captain Yash Dhull.
On Sunday, Tejasvi Singh Dahiya concluded yet another successful DPL campaign. Coming fresh after a maiden IPL campaign, the South Delhi Superstarz captain, in 9 innings, scored 291 runs.

The wicket-keeper batter played several breathtaking knocks coupled with his mindful captaincy, which helped his team secure their maiden DPL title. Thus, for leading SDS win the title, he also earns the captaincy roles in DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
The explosive, high-impact batter with a golden arm, Ayush Badoni, scored 281 runs across 8 matches before leaving for the Duleep Trophy 2026.
His performance was highlighted by a blazing four-match run where he smashed 235 runs off just 122 balls, including a marquee match-winning 90 (47 balls) against the North Delhi Strikers and a blistering 66* (25 balls) against the East Delhi Riders.
Thus, despite his absence in the latter half of the tournament, Ayush deserves a spot in the DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
All-rounders: Harsh Tyagi, Manish Sehrawat
Although his team, Outer Delhi Warriors, failed to make an impact in the DPL 2026, Harsh Tyagi was one of the standout players of the season. The left-arm spinner claimed 15 wickets and surely deserves a spot in the DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
However, what stood out the most was his exceptional economy rate of 7.80. He impressed not only with his disciplined and controlled bowling but also with his crucial knocks with the bat.
Himmat Singh-led New Delhi Tigers had a terrible run in the DPL 2026, finishing last. Nonetheless, the team found a superb match-winner like Manish Sehrawat. Sehrawat, who was playing his maiden DPL season, massively impressed one and all with his all-round performance.
Though he only picked 10 wickets in 10 games, his economy of 7.73, showcased his prowess. Apart from that, he also amassed 199 runs in his maiden DPL season at a phenomenal strike rate of 177.67.
The left-arm spinner, time and again, turned the game’s momentum in his team’s favour with the bat and ball, though his team failed to capitalise on it. These couple of players are the only all-rounders in the DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
Bowlers: Money Grewal, Anshuman Hooda, Gavnish Khurana
Central Delhi Kings retained Money Grewal, letting Simarjeet Singh go. In the 2026 auction, they entrusted an inexperienced Gavnish Khurana.
Playing his first DPL season, the left-arm pacer Khurana formed a formidable bowling partnership, picking up 21 wickets across the campaign, just 1 wicket behind the Purple Cap winner, Anshuman Hooda.
Meanwhile, Money Grewal bowled as many as 45 overs, scalping 18 wickets. This made him one of Central Delhi Kings' most dependable bowling options. He has been one of the most promising players, often playing explosive knocks when given the opportunity to bat slightly higher up the order.
Last, but definitely not the least on the DPL 2026 Team of the Tournament, Anshuman Hooda was named the Purple cap winner for taking 22 wickets in total. His ability to scalp wickets consistently established him as one of the standout players of the season.
