England decimated Pakistan inside three-and-a-half days to go 2-0 up in their three-match Test series. Ollie Robinson picked up four wickets in the second Pakistan innings to complete eight for the match, and fittingly bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
Former England captain Nasser Hussain, who has been extremely vocal in his criticism of Pakistan throughout the series, dropped another blunt assessment of the visiting group after England’s emphatic victory at Lord’s in London.
Nasser Hussain urges England to not enjoy its success against Pakistan
While speaking in the post-match expert commentary show at Lord’s in London, former England captain and prominent commentator Nasser Hussain urged the England players to not think too highly of themselves for their recent success against Pakistan.
Hussain went on to call the current visiting batch a “poor side”, and advised England players to celebrate their success only against stronger teams like Australia, South Africa and India.

Nasser Hussain said, “I don't think they should judge themselves against this Pakistani batting lineup, I have consistently said that they are a very poor side. You should judge yourself against Australia, South Africa and India.”
Nasser trolls Pakistan for “not fighting back anymore”
Incidentally, this is not the first time Nasser Hussain has verbally attacked Pakistan this series. Just prior to the second Test last week, the former English skipper trolled the visitors after the pre-match press conference of Babar Azam.
Correcting Babar’s Pakistani promise of “fighting back”, Nasser had said that the ‘Men in Green’ do not fight back anymore and the cricketing world keeps “hyping up” the Pakistan team even though the matches involving them are “not great anymore”.
Nasser Hussain also urged the Pakistan cricket team to improve its game this series in a bid to “test England a bit more.
Hussain proven right as Babar Azam’s promise falls flat
Prior to the second Test in London, Pakistan captain and comeback man Babar Azam vowed a stronger performance from his side after their lop-sided show at Headingley in Leeds earlier this month.
While speaking at the pre-match press conference, Babar said “We play a different brand of cricket. This time, you’ll see something different from us.”
Compatible to Nasser Hussain’s brutal assessment, Babar’s Pakistan certainly “did not” fought back in London. The visitors crashed to a 194-run defeat inside three-and-a-half days to go 0-2 down in the three-match series.
Babar Azam, who returned to the side after his finger injury, himself registered scores of just eight and six across both innings to list just 14 runs in his comeback match. The cricketer was left embarrassed by a brutal Jofra Archer short delivery on Day 4 to cap his Pakistani return on a dismal note.
PCB to revamp Pakistan squad for third Test
As one can expect, the Pakistan squad is set to undergo massive changes for the upcoming third Test in Birmingham between September 9 and September 13 next week.
Senior wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan will reportedly be sent back to Pakistan owing to his form concern, while Imam-ul-Haq will also be dropped owing to his injury.
The Pakistan management has summoned as many as six players for the third Test, including the likes of Saim Ayub and Arafat Minhas.
