The BBL 2025-26 season is over, with Perth Scorchers winning the title once again as they defeated the Sydney Sixers in a one-sided finale on Sunday. The Sixers were no match for the Scorchers as the tournament ended with the best team winning the competition.

Throughout the course of the BBL, several players delivered the goods and performed exceptionally across various departments. In this piece, we take a look at the top performers from the league to make our BBL team of the tournament.

BBL 2025-26: Team of the Season

Top order: Finn Allen, David Warner, Sam Harper

There was Mitchell Marsh in contention for the openers’ spot, and while the Australian batter scored truckloads of runs at the top, the strike-rate was questionable. However, that was not the case with David Warner and Finn Allen.

Allen was not only the top scorer in the league with 466 runs, but also smacked the most sixes (38) as he helped Scorchers win the tournament with his batting at the top. Alongside him is David Warner, the veteran who continues to shine.

The Sydney Thunder opener finished as the second-highest run-getter (433), and was their key player as he was the only player with mutiple centuries in the league.

Completing the top three is Sam Harper from the Melbourne Stars. He scored 381 runs in 11 matches, with a strike rate of 155 as the batter dragged the Stars to the playoffs.

Middle-order: Matt Renshaw, Aaron Hardie, Marcus Stoinis

Renshaw, who was struggling to get back into the Australian side had a breakout season as the batter was instrumental for the Brisbane Heat. The team struggled for runs, but Renshaw was their lone warrior as he smacked 324 runs in 10 matches and had a strike rate of 153.55.

Aaron Hardie also makes the cut as one of the key middle-order players. If Marsh was instrumental at the top for the Scorchers, then Hardie played his part in the middle as he accumulated 339 runs in 12 matches, with a strike rate of 146.12 and was the backbone of their middle-order department.

The last player to complete the batting list is all-rounder, Marcus Stoinis. He was amongst the run-scorers and the wicket takers for the Stars. With the bat, Stoinis scored 273 runs, with a strike rate of 135, and with the ball, he grabbed 15 wickets at 7.44.

All-rounder: Jack Edwards

The Sydney Sixers all-rounder was crucial in their run towards the finale and he showcased his skills with both bat and ball. With the ball, Edwards finished with 19 wickets in just 12 innings at an economy of 8.10. With the bat, he contributed too, scoring 133 runs, at a strike rate of 168.

Bowlers: Tom Curran, Haris Rauf, Peter Siddle, Ben Dwarshius

Tom Curran, the England and Melbourne Stars bowler makes the entry in the list as he was pivotal for his side and finished the tournament with 16 wickets in 10 innings, at an economy of just 7.78.

The lone Pakistan player to make the list is Haris Rauf. The Pakistan and Melbourne Stars speedster was ignored from the T20 World Cup squad, but this was despite the fact that he finished the BBL season with 20 wickets in 11 matches and was the highest wicket-taker in the competition.

It was Stars’ bowling that took them to the knockouts and another pacer from the team entered the list, Peter Siddle. The 41-year-old pacer was outstanding with the ball as he grabbed 16 wickets in 11 matches, and had an economy of just 7.13.

The last bowler to complete the list is left-arm seamer, Ben Dwarshius from Sydney Sixers. In just 11 innings, he scalped 16 wickets, and had an economy of just 7.85 as his exploits were key in the Sixers reaching the finals.
