Uncapped players who can shine for DC in IPL 2026 [Source: AFP]
The IPL 2026 season is just around the corner as ten teams will fight it out for the coveted IPL championship, and while all eyes will be on the defending champions, RCB, and the five-time winners, MI and CSK, the Delhi Capitals, the Axar Patel-led side cannot be ignored.
Last season, the team showed a lot of promise as they started out with four wins in a row, but then faded away as they failed to qualify for the playoffs. However, in the IPL 2026 mini auction, the team invested smartly and has built a strong core, with KL Rahul set to open.
The franchise has assembled a strong roster filled with quality superstars from not only India but overseas as well. Moreover, the team has quite a few uncapped players, who can take the IPL by storm. Here is a list of such uncapped players who can be genuine match-winners for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
1) Abishek Porel
Delhi Capitals have shown a lot of trust in youngster Abishek Porel, and perhaps the time has come for the batter to repay the faith with an outstanding season. Porel has always been a joy to watch, but he has never been consistent in the IPL.
In the last two IPL seasons, he has shown the aggressive side, and the stats reveal the entire story as DC have rightly retained him for IPL 2026.
| Criterion | IPL 2025 | IPL 2024 |
| Matches | 13 | 14 |
| Runs | 301 | 327 |
| Strike rate | 146.83 | 159.51 |

- In IPL 2025 and 2024, the Bengal batter has made a name for himself, and while all the hype will be around KL Rahul and other big names, don’t be surprised if Porel comes out of syllabus and delivers the goods for the Capitals.

2) Auqib Nabi
There was a lot of buzz when Jammu and Kashmir pacer, Auqib Nabi entered the IPL 2026 mini auction. He had created a storm in the domestic circuit with his performances, and teams were expected to go hard to purchase him.
The franchise invested heavily in him (8.40 crore), and expect the talented pacer to deliver the goods. Auqib Nabi can generate decent pace, and is known for swinging the ball both ways.
He is someone who bowls at accurate lines and lengths, and he is more than a handy bowler in the powerplay. Apart from his bowling, Auqib Nabi can also chip in with quick runs lower down the order, and perhaps DC has struck a masterstroke by buying the pacer.
3) Ashutosh Sharma
The IPL 2024 season saw Punjab Kings produce two outstanding stars, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma. While PBKS retained Shashank ahead of 2025 campaign, they released Ashutosh, and DC snapped him up.
The move paid off instantly as the explosive batter became DC’s go-to finisher, and cemented his batting position in the playing XI. In IPL 2025, the right-handed batter slammed 204 runs in 13 matches, with a strike rate of 160.
DC has a plethora of top-order batters, but none can replicate what Ashutosh does as a finisher, and DC would hope that the hard-hitting player can once again deliver the goods. Ashutosh’s game against spin has vastly improved, and expect him to score more runs for Delhi Capitals this season.
