The much-awaited Vaibhav Sooryavanshi debut came on Saturday evening at Manchester, as the teenager became the 122nd T20I cricketer for India. Although he was dismissed for just 14 runs, the 15-year-old broke Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli's records.
During his 10-ball stay in the middle, the left-handed opener was able to smash the likes of Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue, bowling at gun pace, into the stands for half a dozen runs, respectively.
However, the part-time off-spinner Will Jacks was able to watch Sooryavanshi’s back on his debut.

The child prodigy from Bihar smacked two biggies on debut, one more than what the Chasemaster had hit on his T20I debut vs Zimbabwe back in 2010. Kohli, on his T20I debut, scored 26* runs but only hit a maximum - over long-off against Christopher Mpofu.
Although VK’s score in his T20I debut innings was more than Sooryavanshi’s, the left-handed batter has had a better outing than the Little Master. SRT played just one T20I throughout his career; he scored 10 runs vs South Africa at Johannesburg in 2006, scoring two boundaries but no sixes.

First Indian batter to be stumped on T20I debut
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi couldn’t contribute much to the Indian total, but he did give them a flourishing start before Abhishek Sharma took over and scored a fiery 43.
Although the Indian batters lost the plot in the middle overs, Tilak Varma answered his critics, after regular questions were being asked of the Indian vice-captain, with an unbeaten 24-run blitz, ending India on 190/7 with momentum on their side.
About that later, as Sooryavanshi was stumped out, he became the first Indian men’s cricketer to get dismissed in such a way on T20I debut. However, he was the 90th man overall to get out in that manner. For India, he became the third cricketer after Murugesan Kamini (2008) and Veda Krishnamurthy (2011).
