Delhi Capitals pummeled Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2026 Eliminator to set a date with RCB for the final. The outcome also marked Capitals’ fourth straight entry into a WPL final since the inauguration of the tournament three years ago.
Here, we take a look at the entire highlights from the Eliminator match of the WPL 2026 season between Gujarat Giants Women vs Delhi Capitals Women, as it panned out at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday, February 3.
Beth Mooney anchors Gujarat Giants to 168
Gujarat Giants opener Sophie Devine nicked one towards Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper Lizelle Lee off Chinelle Henry in just the second over of the match for a sluggish six. Anushka Sharma at number three and captain Ashleigh Gardner also failed to steer Giants into recovery as the two cricketers were dismissed in quick succession by Nandani Sharma inside the powerplay.
Nandani trapped Anushka for 16 from 13 balls, and captain Gardner for a first-ball duck as the Gujarat Giants slipped to a precarious 48-3 after six overs. Kanika Ahuja at number five was out stumped by Lee off Minnu Mani for just six off nine balls as the Giants’ troubles took a turn for the worse at 59-4 around the halfway stage of the innings.
Amidst tumbling wickets, vintage opener Beth Mooney kept the scoreboard ticking from her end. The legendary Australian stumper went on to compile 62* off 51 balls with six elegant boundaries as the Delhi Capitals reached a competitive 168-7 by the completion of their innings.
Georgia Wareham (35 off 25) and Kashvee Gautam (18 off 10) compounded the runs that matter in the backend of the innings despite Chinelle Henry’s two-wicket burst in her return spell. Henry eventually claimed sensational figures of 3-35 off her four overs, while Nandani Sharma secured 2-44. Minnu Mani conceded just 23 off her four overs at an economy rate of 5.75 and with the added bonus of Ahuja’s wicket.
Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma brutalize Gujarat Giants
Chasing 169, Delhi Capitals openers Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma raced to an attacking 89-run partnership in just seven overs. Lee exploded with 43 runs from just 24 balls with eight cracking boundaries and a huge six.
Shafali Verma also bludgeoned 31 off 21 balls with seven elegant boundaries. At the end of the powerplay, the Capitals had already slapped 75-0 at a run rate of over 12.
It took a double-wicket over from Georgia Wareham to tilt the tide back in Gujarat Giants favor as the Australian leg-spinner removed both Capitals openers in the space of just six deliveries.
Laura Wolvaardt, Jemimah anchor Capitals to comfortable win
Laura Wolvaardt at number three anchored the rest of the Delhi Capitals chase alongside captain Jemimah Rodrigues (41 off 23) with a match-defining partnership of 68. While Rodrigues fell at the brink of the finishing line to Rajeshwari Gayakwad (1-33), Wolvaardt (32* off 24) and fellow South African Marizanne Kapp notched up the winning runs in the 16th over to guide Delhi Capitals Women into the WPL 2026 final.
