Edwin Moulton is another young player who has come through the age-group ranks for Lancashire and England cricket. He is a young right-arm seamer who operates at a medium pace.
Born in Lancashire’s Preston, the seamer has come through the age-group level. Moultan’s started his cricketing journey with Bishop Rawstorne Church of England Academy, before playing for the Myerscough College.
After performing tremendously in age-group, he was picked by Lancashire to play in the Second XI team. The seamer claimed 18 wickets across both the Second XI Championship and One-Day competitions at an average of 25, which handed him a professional contract with the country.
At 21, Moulton made his first-class debut during the club's opening Bob Willis Trophy fixture against Leicestershire, in 2020. The nerves got the better of the youngster as he failed to pick any wicket on debut and finished the match with zero for 110, after bowling 27 overs at an economy of 4.07.
Since then, the seamer has been a regular in the Red Rose’s Second XI teams, but he has to work a bit harder to find his place back in the First XI team. At 22, Moulton has a lot of time to prove his calibre to become an asset for Lancashire, before representing England somewhere down the line.
