A well-built all-rounder from West Indies, Carlos Brathwaite wrote himself into the history books when he thrashed Ben Stokes for four consecutive sixes in the final over to win the T20 World Cup in 2016. Brathwaite announced himself with a seven-wicket haul in his debut game against Trinidad and Tobago in 2011 and went on to bag 26 wickets in eight first-class games.
With a healthy start to his First-Class career, he eventually earned his national call later the same year and made his debut in the T20I against Bangladesh on October 28, 2011, and scalped one wicket for 21 runs. He made his ODI debut in the same series, but only managed 11 runs on debut. He has not managed to hold down a permanent spot in the West Indies line-up, but consistent perseverance earned him his maiden Test call-up for the tour of Australia in December 2015.
Brathwaite is an experienced T20 campaigner with regular stints in the Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League and has represented several franchises in his home, Caribbean Premier League. A born entertainer on and off the field, his stint in 2017/18 Big Bash League helped the Sixers to a four-game winning streak that almost booked them a place in the semi-finals.
An explosive all-rounder, Brathwaite is set to play for Birmingham Bears in the upcoming season of Vitality Blast and is currently playing for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.
