Player Bio

Born on November 10, 2022, Rajvardhan Hangargekar is a bowling all-rounder who featured in the 2022 U-19 World Cup.

The all-rounder was an off-spinner in the initial half of his career, and later on, at the age of 14, he switched to fast bowling as his team required one. Trainer-cum-mentor Tejas Matapurkar found that Hangargekar used to struggle with his run-up and later worked hard to improve it.

The 19-year-old was selected for Maharashtra's U-16 team for the 2016-17 Vijay-Merchant Trophy. Post his brilliant performances for Osmanabad, where he was shortlisted for further opportunities.

The youngster made his T20I debut for Maharashtra in the 2020-21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) on January 16, 2021. In the same season, he also made his List-A debut.

The all-rounder bagged 19 wickets in 8 games in the 2022 U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy and also scored 216 runs with the bat in hand. He was also impressive in the U-19 Challenger Trophy and U-19 Trainagular series in the same year.

The Tuljapur-born cricketer hit three consecutive sixes against Ireland in the 2022 ICC U-19 World Cup group stages and therefore was awarded the 'play of the match'.

After some delightful performances in the U-19 World Cup, the Pune-based cricketer was snapped by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2022 Indian Premier League auction at INR 1.5 Crore.
