Rashid Khan (Player of the Match): "First of all, thanks to almighty Allah. This crucial man of the match award gives you a lot of confidence. I try my best for all the three formats, try to give my 100 percent every time and it's great to help the side to a win.
It was hard to the leftie, but the plan was to keep it more tight. The two crucial wickets gave us momentum. I had it at the back of my mind to get those wickets. Those two are very dangerous batters [Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes]. Moeen tried to go over the square leg but I tried to keep the line and length tight as I desired. More the time you be in the nets, more the better result you get. Thanks to the time I spend with the coaching staffs and the confidence that Hardik gave. They give me more batting sessions in the net as well and that's what helps me get better "
Player of the Match: Rashid Khan
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans Captain): "Yeah, I mean, it was a brilliant performance. But we did put ourselves in a fix with Rashid and Rahul getting us over the line. At one stage, they were cruising towards 200, but we bowled really well to restrict them under the big total.
It becomes difficult for me (Pandya) to pick the correct players when you have the new impact player rule. But Alzarri and others bowled well to restrict CSK. I realised that bowling hard lengths was the way to go here and hence I asked Alzarri to bowl late in the innings.
Rashid Khan as always was brilliant with both bat and ball. I mean he is a fantastic player under pressure, he delivers. He is a real asset to the team. He will give you wickets and some runs late down the order.
See, Shubman's and my shot selections weren't right that time and we got out. We needed to bat well and take the game deep and finish the job so that we don't put massive responsibility for the players coming down the order."
