Gujarat Titans, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, knocked CSK out of the IPL 2026 season with a huge win in Ahmedabad. Captain Gill himself struck a regal 37-ball 64 with the bat, before pulling out a sensational run out and claiming one of the best catches in recent memory.
Notably, the cricketer seemingly mocked a section of CSK fans after completing his diving catch to dismiss Shivam Dube. The Indian Test skipper ‘hushed’ the Narendra Modi Stadium crowd as part of his fiery send-off to the CSK batter.
Even after defeating CSK by 89 runs, Shubman Gill made a ‘provocative’ social media post, at least as per fans of the ‘Yellow Brigade’. Gill’s post sparked a wave of angry responses from CSK fans, with many abusing the cricketer online.
It is worth noting that this was not Gill’s first controversial brush with the CSK. Back in IPL 2024, the prolific opener dropped an ‘F Bomb’ after celebrating his century against the MS Dhoni-starrer side in Ahmedabad.

Even in match number 66 of the ongoing IPL 2026 season, Shubman Gill ‘hushed’ the Narendra Modi Stadium crowd after taking a sensational catch to dismiss CSK’s dangerman Shivam Dube.
After the match, Gill shared a social media post, perceived to be a ‘provocative’ one by CSK fans. In the post, the cricketer wrote “Nandri 2. Yellow lights, blue ending”, thus indicating that even though there was a yellow fever on the ground, the result ended in favour of the blue team.
In the picture, captain Gill as well as Mohammed Siraj and Jos Buttler did a ‘shushing’ gesture with finger on their lips, indirectly hinting at CSK fans to stay quiet after the defeat.
