Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his much-awaited India debut on Saturday in the 2nd T20I vs England at Old Trafford, Manchester. The 15-year-old replaced Sanju Samson to open the innings as India were asked to bat first.

The Rajasthan Royals opener was up against his RR teammate Jofra Archer, who is also playing his 1st match of the ongoing series. Notably, Sooryavanshi has made a reputation for whacking reputed bowlers for six off the first ball, and he continued the same against Jofra Archer.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Slams Jofra Archer For A Big Six

Jofra Archer bowled the first over of the match, but Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got stuck at the non-striker’s end and couldn’t face his RR teammate. 

The much-awaited battle came to life when Archer returned for his 2nd over. On the 1st ball, he bowled to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi; the 15-year-old wonder hit him for a big six that got the entire crowd going and jumping in their seats.

Jofra Archer Added To Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Long List

During IPL 2026, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi showed no mercy against bowlers and whacked them for a first-ball six. The likes of Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and many others.

In fact, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi started his IPL career with a first-ball six. Jofra Archer was the only bowler who was sparred because he too played for Rajasthan Royals. However, the 15-year-old has now added the right-arm seamer to the list by hitting him for a first-ball six on his international debut.

Jofra Archer's IPL Words Fall Flat In 2nd T20I

During IPL 2026, qualifiers, Jofra Archer was asked about plans to get Vaibhav Sooryavanshi out. However, the right-arm seamer claimed that he won't spill the beans, confirming that there is a trick to get the youngster packing.

Therefore, fans were worried that Archer might get Sooryavanshi out but nothing of that sort happened. Here is what Jofra Archer remarked during his IPL stint with Rajasthan Royals.

 ‘I’ll tell you after the tournament is over,’ remarked the England seamer and stated that he has got the southpaw out on several occassions in the nets.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Fails To Impress On India Debut

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got off to a positive start as he whacked two sixes and looked like he will sore big on his India debut. However, the youngster fell prey to Will Jacks, who smartly tricked the prodigy.

On the 5th ball of the 5th over, Sooryavanshi danced down the track, but Jacks saw it and kept the ball wide of off-stump. Eventually, Jos Buttler stumped the southpaw out, who failed to get back in time and walked back to the pavillion briskly disappointed.
