The first T20I between India and England was washed out after the rain gods decided to have their final say at Chester-le-Street. The caravan has moved on to the Old Trafford, Manchester, for the IND vs ENG 2nd T20I, scheduled for Saturday.

Before the rain stopped the game and eventually abandoned it, the Men in Blue batted their entire 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma did what he does the best, as he finished the English attack with his 24-ball 59. Shreyas Iyer also notched up a record-breaking half-century, and his first as India's T20I captain.

While Shivam Dube provided the team perfecting finishing touches in the IND vs ENG 1st T20I as India finished on 189/7.

For England, Saqib Mahmood returned with three wickets, while Sam Curran and Adil Rashid also chipped in a wicket each.

The wait is over! The highly talented prodigy from Bihar's Samastipur district is set to make India proud in Manchester. The 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is making his India debut in the IND vs ENG 2nd T20I. Meanwhile, India will bat first in the IND vs ENG 2nd T20I at Manchester.

At 15 years and 99 days, Sooryavanshi becomes the youngest cricketer to don India's jersey, breaking the record previously held by Shefali Verma, and by Sachin Tendulkar among Indian men's cricketers

The team management has decided to bench Sanju Samson to slot in Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at the top of the order. Meanwhile, there have been no other changes made by the Men in Blue.

For England, as predicted earlier, Jofra Archer returns to England’s Playing XI after missing the last T20I, as he has rested after the hard-fought Test series vs New Zealand. The Three Lions, too, have made just one more change, the debutant Josh Tongue replacing Saqib Mahmood. Archer has come in for Luke Wood.

IND Vs IRE, 2nd T20I: What the captains had to say

Shreyas Iyer (India Captain): "We are going to bat first. (Team news) One change. Vaibhav comes in for Sanju (Samson).

Absolutely. You have seen him in the past months. The way he has been playing against world class bowlers.

He is someone who does not take pressure at all. He has that unflinching nature. He is very well aware of what is to come in these matches. Calm demeanour. The way he bats in the nets shows that how he plays.

The amount of talent India produces is pleasing to the eye. It keeps us on the toes. Pressure is privilege.

Harry Brook (England Captain): "We would have batted as well. Yeah, it was an awesome day. Unfortunately, we won't be able to do that again here unless we are chasing down 300 but we are all really looking forward to play against a strong Indian side.

Yeah, we are pretty happy with the selection. Joff coming back in is a strong sign for us and obviously, Tonguey has been knocking the door down for quite a while now and we felt this is the best opportunity to give him a game.

Both really. Both are skillfull bowlers, they have good slower balls. They can hit yorker and nail those lengths. It is good to have two fast bowlers in the side.

[Homework on Boy Wonder] Yeah, we have done a bit. Made tactical decisions, we have been thinking about and it is about executing them."
