The Hundred 2026 marked its conclusion on August 16, as Manchester Super Giants clinched their maiden title in the tournament by defeating Trent Rockets in the final. Batting first, the Rockets posted a competitive total of 158 runs, while the Super Giants chased it down with two balls and five wickets to spare.

The destructive duo of Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert finished the tournament as the most successful batters, while Josh Tongue led the bowlers' chart. With the IPL auction approaching, some prolific performers from The Hundred 2026 must be on the radar of multiple franchises, including MI and CSK.

Here we take a look at players who could secure their maiden IPL contracts at the 2027 auction following their inspirational performances in the Hundred this season.

(Josh Tongue's stats in The Hundred 2026)

Josh Tongue played for Manchester Super Giants and finished The Hundred 2026 as the highest wicket-taker. The right-arm pacer bagged 14 scalps in 10 innings while also registering a remarkable economy rate of 7.93, the best among the five most successful bowlers in the competition.

Tongue has had a stellar year in T20 cricket this season. The English fast bowler has bagged 21 wickets in 14 T20 matches, including four international fixtures. He can swing the ball up front and get crucial breakthroughs in the powerplay.

Josh Tongue had registered at a base price of 1 Cr, but went unsold in the IPL 2026 auction. His ability to utilise the new ball and keep the batters under the pump with his variations in the middle and death overs makes him a valuable asset in the shortest format.

So, teams like Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, that are searching for potent fast bowlers, can bid for Tongue in the IPL 2027 auction.

2. Joe Clarke- MI, DC

(Joe Clarke's stats in The Hundred 2026)

Joe Clarke has been a consistent performer in T20 leagues across the globe. The swashbuckling right-hander had another fruitful run in The Hundred 2026, emerging as the most successful batter from the Birmingham Phoenix.

Clarke hammered 291 runs, including three half-centuries, in 8 innings, averaging 36.37 and striking at 149.23. Despite registering at a base price of INR 0.5 Cr, Joe Clarke went unsold in the IPL 2026 auction.

But his returns in The Hundred 2026 could pave the way for Clarke's maiden IPL contract, with several teams searching for an able top-order batter to boost their squads. Delhi Capitals will aim to bolster their top order with dynamic options, and Joe Clarke could be a name worth considering for them.

Mumbai Indians can also have a look at the English batter, particularly if they part ways with Quinton de Kock, who followed a topsy-turvy IPL campaign with a horrible MLC 2026, where he managed 200 runs in 10 innings.

(Paul Walter's stats in The Hundred 2026)

Explosive batter Paul Walter was promoted up the order and opened the innings for Manchester Super Giants in The Hundred 2026. The decision proved to be a masterstroke, as Walter smashed 247 runs at a blistering strike rate of 178.98.

Although Walter primarily played The Hundred 2026 as an opener, he is flexible enough to solidify the middle-order as a finisher. Overall, he has been a fantastic all-rounder in T20s, amassing 3075 runs and scalping 118 wickets with his left-arm medium pace.

So, teams like Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, that are looking for versatile all-rounders, can bid for Paul Walter if he puts his name up for the IPL 2027 auction. Punjab Kings can also consider signing the seasoned campaigner, considering Marco Jansen and Shashank Singh registered modest scores in the IPL this season.

4. Aneurin Donald- DC

Strike Rate217.46

(Aneurin Donald's stats in The Hundred 2026)

Aneurin Donald has grabbed the headlines due to his destructive hitting at the top order. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter has a strike rate of 170.99 after 106 T20 innings, highlighting his aggressive game and ability to capitalise on the powerplay field restrictions.

Donald was magnificent for Derbyshire in the T20 Blast 2026, scoring 489 runs at a strike rate of 230.66. He followed it up with an impactful campaign for Trent Rockets in The Hundred 2026, scoring 137 runs at a strike rate of 217.46.

Thus, IPL franchises that are searching for explosive top-order batters, such as Delhi Capitals, can opt to bid for Donald and add him to their squad as an X-factor for the IPL 2027.
