With the IPL auction approaching, some prolific performers from The Hundred 2026 must be on the radar of multiple franchises, including MI and CSK. 

Here we take a look at players who could secure their maiden IPL contracts at the 2027 auction following their inspirational performances in the Hundred this season.

Tongue has had a stellar year in T20 cricket this season. The English fast bowler has bagged 21 wickets in 14 T20 matches, including four international fixtures. He can swing the ball up front and get crucial breakthroughs in the powerplay. 

Josh Tongue had registered at a base price of 1 Cr, but went unsold in the IPL 2026 auction. His ability to utilise the new ball and keep the batters under the pump with his variations in the middle and death overs makes him a valuable asset in the shortest format.

2. Joe Clarke- MI, DC

Clarke hammered 291 runs, including three half-centuries, in 8 innings, averaging 36.37 and striking at 149.23. Despite registering at a base price of INR 0.5 Cr, Joe Clarke went unsold in the IPL 2026 auction. 

But his returns in The Hundred 2026 could pave the way for Clarke's maiden IPL contract, with several teams searching for an able top-order batter to boost their squads. Delhi Capitals will aim to bolster their top order with dynamic options, and Joe Clarke could be a name worth considering for them.

Donald was magnificent for Derbyshire in the T20 Blast 2026, scoring 489 runs at a strike rate of 230.66. He followed it up with an impactful campaign for Trent Rockets in The Hundred 2026, scoring 137 runs at a strike rate of 217.46. 

Thus, IPL franchises that are searching for explosive top-order batters, such as Delhi Capitals, can opt to bid for Donald and add him to their squad as an X-factor for the IPL 2027.
