India Women produced one of their best batting displays against Australia Women in a must-win ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 clash at Lord's on June 28. With a place in the semi-finals on the line, Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front with a stunning 56 off just 27 balls after solid contributions from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma at the top.

India finished with 170/4 in 20 overs, their highest-ever total against Australia in Women's T20 World Cup history. 

Harmanpreet's explosive knock rewrote multiple batting records, while India's team total also entered the record books. Here is a look at every major record Harmanpreet Kaur created during the high-pressure contest.

1) Fastest Fifty For India In Women's T20 World Cup History

Harmanpreet Kaur raced to her half-century in just 25 balls, registering the fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Women's T20 World Cup history.

She broke her own previous record of a 27-ball fifty against Sri Lanka during the 2024 edition. The Indian captain attacked Australia's bowling from the start and shifted the momentum completely during the death overs.

2) Second-Fastest Fifty Against Australia In Women's T20Is

The Indian skipper's 25-ball half-century is now the second-fastest fifty scored against Australia in Women's T20 Internationals.

Only West Indies great Deandra Dottin reached the landmark quicker, taking just 22 balls against Australia in 2009. Harmanpreet also moved ahead of Smriti Mandhana and New Zealand's Maddy Green, who both needed 29 deliveries for their respective fifties.

3) Joint Sixth-Fastest Fifty In Women's T20 World Cup History

Harmanpreet's knock also entered the list of the fastest fifties in Women's T20 World Cup history. Her 25-ball effort is now jointly the sixth-fastest fifty ever recorded in the tournament, joining Hayley Matthews' 25-ball fifty against Sri Lanka in 2018.

India's total of 170/4 became their highest-ever innings against Australia in Women's T20 World Cup history. The previous best was 167/8, achieved twice, first in Providence in 2018 and later in Cape Town in 2023.

Thanks to strong batting performances from Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur, India finally crossed the 170-run mark against one of the strongest bowling attacks in women's cricket.
