Gujarat Titans decimated defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match number 42 of the IPL 2026 season. Despite falling on the losing side, Virat Kohli hogged much limelight in the game, for all kinds of reasons.
Starting off the match with a fiery cameo at the top of the order, Kohli was engaged in a verbal altercation with an umpire during the RCB innings. Also, in the second half of the game, the legendary RCB batter also ‘tried to hit’ home skipper Shubman Gill, or at least that’s what some fans believe.
The incident occurred in the fourth over of the Titans innings, when a needless throw from Virat Kohli towards the bowler’s end costed RCB four extra runs.

Several television replays indicated that Titans all-rounder Jason Holder did not take the catch cleanly, with several fans and RCB supporters believing that the cricketer had grassed the ball at the last moment.
