Fans of Virat Kohli reacted strongly after his dismissal during the 11th IPL match against CSK on Sunday, April 5. CSK won the toss and chose to field first, and the pitch appeared slightly slow at the start. As a result, both Kohli and Phil Salt found it difficult to time the ball early in the innings.
Notably, Virat Kohli’s time at the crease looked uncertain from the beginning. First, he narrowly escaped a run-out chance, and then he was dropped by Shivam Dube. Despite these moments, the former RCB captain managed to score 28 runs off 18 balls.
Virat Kohli dismissed after mistimed shot
The key moment came in the fifth over. Anshul Kamboj bowled a short delivery outside off stump. Kohli stepped forward and attempted a pull shot.
However, the ball bounced higher than expected, and he mistimed the shot. The ball went high in the air, and Shivam Dube ran in from long-on and successfully completed the catch this time. Therefore, Kohli was dismissed after scoring 28 runs.

Soon after this dismissal, emotions ran high. Kohli appeared visibly aggressive on the field, and fans quickly reacted on social media. Many supporters began posting abusive comments on the accounts of both Anshul Kamboj and Shivam Dube.
Several comments questioned why Kohli was dismissed, which cleary showed frustration and disappointment among fans.
Meanwhile, despite losing Kohli early, RCB delivered an outstanding batting performance. The team posted a massive total of 250/3. This strong score came through impressive contributions from Tim David, Devdutt Padikkal, and captain Rajat Patidar.

It is important to note that Padikkal scored a steady 50 runs, while Salt, after a slow start, added 46 runs. Together, they built a 56-run partnership for the second wicket. After that, Patidar joined Padikkal, and the pair added another 58 runs.
Tim David and Rajat Patidar finish in style
Notably, David, on the other hand, started slowly, then quickly shifted gears. The Australian star batter smashed 70 runs off just 25 balls, hitting eight sixes and three fours. Their powerful hitting pushed RCB to the highest total of the season so far.
In reply, CSK found it difficult to chase the big target from the very beginning. Their top order collapsed early, mainly due to the excellent bowling from Jacob Duffy, who took important wickets in the powerplay and put CSK under pressure.
He dismissed Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad early in the innings. After that, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Ayush Mhatre and also completed his 200th wicket in the IPL.
Later, Sarfaraz Khan scored 50 runs, while Prashant Veer added 43 and Jamie Overton contributed 37. Even so, the required run rate kept increasing, and the pressure remained high throughout the innings.
Eventually, CSK were bowled out for 207 runs in 19.4 overs. This result marked their third consecutive loss of the season. As a result, they remained at the bottom of the points table with a poor net run rate.
