In an unexpected twist, a social media user lost ₹70,000 while filming an Instagram reel during an IPL 2026 game between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad held on April 11.
The incident reportedly happened at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh and the internet had divided reactions.

For context, the incident took place during an IPL 2026 match between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11. A female fan was trying to film an Instagram video where she intentionally dropped her ring as part of a script.
However, things quickly spiral out of control as the ring bounced down the stadium steps and disappeared from sight. Moments later, the mood shifts from playful to panic.
The woman was seen searching frantically, clearly realising the gravity of what just happened, but by then, the ring is already missing.
The clip was later shared on Instagram, where the woman appealed for help in recovering the lost jewellery. She revealed that the ring cost ₹70,000 and urged fans for leads.
Despite the appeal, the ring has not yet been recovered, according to the post.

Fans react to the viral mess up
That being said, the video of the woman went viral on social media and fans naturally had their opinions.
Many users questioned the decision to risk such an expensive item for content while some even doubted the authenticity of the video. Others turned it into humor and trolled her with all kinds of memes and funny messages.




While social media trends can be entertaining, this incident serves as a reminder that not every moment needs to be content and expensive belongings and risky actions don’t mix well. A few seconds of viral fame can sometimes lead to lasting regret.
PBKS beat SRH at Mullanpur
Coming back to the game, Punjab Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets in 17th IPL 2026 fixture. SRH came out all guns blazing with a 105-run powerplay after Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s masterclass.
However, they slowed down in the middle overs and settled for 219/6. Shashank Singh bowled well for Punjab, picking up 2 wickets for 20 runs in three overs.
In the chase, Punjab Kings responded with an even more explosive approach. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh hammered 93 runs in the first 6 overs and captain Shreyas Iyer further carried the momentum.
He scored 69* off just 33 balls to take full control of the required run rate. He ensured there was no late collapse, guiding PBKS home comfortably.
After that win, PBKS climbed to the second spot on the points table while SRH slipped to fourth spot with 4 points.
