Suryakumar Yadav was slammed for the series of poor performances [Source: X and Screengrab]
Suryakumar Yadav and his worrying form hasn't been taking a break at all. After a poor Mumbai Indians campaign in the Indian Premier League 2026, the India T20I skipper has failed again while representing the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East team in the Mumbai T20 League 2026.
As Suryakumar is currently leading the team in the tournament that started on June 1, his opening bout hasn't been very successful.
The Downfall of SKY
While coming to chase a total of 210 runs on the board against the North Mumbai Panthers, led by Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav fell for just 19 runs as the top order collapsed within the first three overs of their innings.
This continuous downfall has now put question marks on Suryakumar Yadav's place in the national setup as well. However, before that, the internet didn't forget to troll the India skipper.
Suryakumar's Series Of Poor Performances In IPL 2026
Suryakumar Yadav averaged 20.77 in IPL 2026. Although he had a decent strike rate of over 140, his 270 runs were not something that he can be proud of after a 2.5-month-long campaign.
As Mumbai Indians bowed out of the tournament in the group stage with a ninth-place finish, Surya's knocks were also blunt and failed to impress anyone. He finished four times with a single-digit score and twice with a golden duck.
His poor figures of 16, 33, 15, 21, and 12 were a rare sight as India's Mr. 360 only produced a 36-ball 51 against Delhi Capitals on April 4 and a 42-ball 60 in MI's last group-stage match against Rajasthan Royals.

These underwhelming numbers also reflected in the Mumbai T20 2026 league, where he scored just 19 runs from 11 deliveries after coming into bat at number four.
SKY Fails To Make A Mark In Mumbai T20 2026
As SKY came in after Vedant Murkar to take hold of the innings, which had been dented by two consecutive wickets inside three overs, Surya failed to anchor as he was trapped by Rahul Sawant on the penultimate ball of the seventh over.
He attempted to launch Sawant's delivery high in the air over fine leg with a sweep. However, the ball went comfortably to the fielder stationed at the backward square-leg boundary, which in turn sent Suryakumar Yadav back to the pavilion.
This had the internet cackling as netizens roasted Surya's series of underwhelming performances.
Let's take a look at how the internet reacted:
Suryakumar Yadav's India Exclusion On The Cards?
Given the series of poor performances, according to some reports, Surya was also excluded from the primary squad submitted by the BCCI to the Indian Olympic Association for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
The Asian Games exclusion may only be the start of the decline, as Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson are now emerging as potential contenders to take over the T20I captaincy, according to reports.
It seems that Surya, once a rising gem for India, may see his star fade as his performances continue to deteriorate with each game he plays.
