Krunal Pandya’s groin injury leads to a social media debate
Meanwhile, during the first innings, Krunal Pandya suddenly pulled up after two deliveries, appearing to be in discomfort, reportedly around the groin area, and required on-field attention from the physio.
However, in a strange turn of events, RCB sent a female physio to treat him, which left fans confused on social media.
Although Krunal resumed bowling after a short pause, the moment raised concerns for RCB, especially given his importance as a key spin option this season.
It wasn’t a great outing otherwise either, as Krunal Pandya went wicketless and conceded heavily.

Krunal Pandya delivered with the bat
While Krunal had an off-day with the ball, he made up for it in the second innings. Coming in during the final phase, Krunal played a smart and aggressive knock, scoring an unbeaten 23 off just 12 balls.
While the chase was anchored by Virat Kohli (81) and powered by Devdutt Padikkal (55), Krunal’s finishing touch alongside Tim David was just as important in closing out the game with composure.
From leaking runs with the ball to delivering with the bat under pressure, Krunal Pandya ended up playing a key all-round role in RCB’s impressive 5-wicket win.
RCB retain the second spot on the points table
Meanwhile, RCB got their fifth victory of the IPL 2026 season against the Gujarat Titans on Friday to climb up to the second spot on the points table. GT did a decent job in the first innings to get a big total of 205/3.
But RCB responded like champions in the chase. After an early wicket, Virat Kohli played a commanding knock of 81 off 44. He found strong support from Devdutt Padikkal, who was explosive with 55 off just 27 balls, taking the game away from GT during the middle overs.
RCB did lose a few quick wickets late, which briefly brought GT back into the game. But a composed finish from Krunal Pandya (23* off 12) and Tim David ensured there were no last-over nerves.
RCB chased down 206 in just 18.5 overs, winning by 5 wickets and also improving their net run rate. Meanwhile, RCB will next face Delhi Capitals on April 27 at the Arun Jaitely Stadium at 7:30 PM IST.
