On Monday, April 6, both Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma took to their respective Instagram accounts and expressed their admirations for the 2026 Bollywood spy action-thriller Dhurandhar The Revenge.
It appears like the film has not only shattered numerous box office records, but with endorsements from two of India’s biggest icons, it has now received the ultimate seal of approval.

All about Dhurandhar: The Revenge
Dhurandhar The Revenge, released last month, is a blockbuster sequel to the 2025 smash hit Dhurandhar. Starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, both films have smashed numerous box office records, with the sequel still running strongly in Indian and overseas theatres.
However, several fans and critics have also criticised the movie, terming it propaganda for taking a pro-ruling government stance. The film also focuses on a high-stakes covert operation in Pakistan in the backdrop of several terrorist attacks in India.
In light of the concurrent backlash the film has been receiving from various quarters of the internet, a section of Indian cricket fans has expressed disapproval of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s praise for the movie.
Director responds to Kohli
Hogging the limelight, director Aditya Dhar himself acknowledged Kohli’s praise for the movie. The star filmmaker took to his Instagram story, and claimed that he has been a fan of the former Indian captain since his Under-19 playing days.
Dhar also praised the legendary batter for inspiring him with his professionalism, calling the cricketer a “once-in-a-generation” icon.
Virat Kohli to resume RCB duties soon
After enjoying his brief movie break with wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli will now soon be seen making his return for the RCB franchise for the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The legendary Indian batter has so far played two match-winning knocks as the defending champions continue to remain unbeaten in the tournament.
Kohli started off the season with a sublime 69* from just 38 balls as the RCB mowed down SRH by six wickets in just 15.4 overs in a chase of 202. The seasoned pro followed it up with an attacking top-order cameo of 28 off 18 balls against the CSK at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
With a five-day break in between, Virat Kohli and the rest of his RCB troops will now be seen taking on Rajasthan Royals in match number 16 of the IPL 2026 season. The match will be hosted by the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Friday, April 10 later this week.
