Mohammad Amir and Steve Smith were involved in a fiery exchange during match number 14 of the PSL 2026 season. After conceding a boundary in the second over of the innings and the first of his opening spell, Amir bounced back immediately, dismissing the Australian batter on the very next delivery.

Notably, Amir also had a few words for Smith as he walked back, celebrating the wicket as RawalPindiZ seized their first breakthrough against Multan Sultans.

Mohammad Amir gets his revenge against Steve Smith

RawalPindiZ new ball paceman Mohammad Amir abused Multan Sultans opener Steve Smith to some extent after dismissing the legendary Australian batter in his first over of the game. Bowling to the two Multan Sultans openers, Amir started off by conceding a single to Sahibzada Farhan, before Smith belted the speedster for a scorching boundary over mid-off.

However, Steve Smith was dismissed off the very next ball as he got caught out by Abdullah Fazal at deep square in his attempted across-the-line shot. As he walked back to the dugout, the former Pakistan quick made sure to remind him of the wicket delivery with a choice of some bold words.

Mohammad Amir continues to fuel rivalry with batting greats

Earlier this PSL 2026 season, Mohammad Amir also fueled his rivalry with Pakistan great and former captain Babar Azam by sharing a controversial social media post on Instagram. A day after getting belted for a couple of confident boundaries by Babar during RawalPindiZ’s opening match of the tournament against Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore on March 28, the ex-paceman re-posted a controversial video on his Instagram account where a social media expert can be seen criticizing the legendary batter.

In the video, the self-proclaimed cricket expert bragged about Amir’s past bowling track record over Babar after the speedster failed to dismiss him in his PSL career for once.

Sahibzada Farhan puts Multan Sultans on top

Getting invited to bat first, RawalPindiZ aggregated a competitive 182-8 in 20 overs. Unbeaten Sam Billings top-scored in the innings through his attacking 56*-run knock from just 34 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Kamran Ghulam (35 off 24) and Dian Forrester (24 off 11) also chipped in with crucial runs after the early loss of both openers, Mohammad Rizwan and Yasir Khan.

For the Multan Sultans, Faisal Akram snared sensational bowling figures of 4-31 in his four overs, which included the prized scalps of Daryl Mitchell and a well-set Kamran Ghulam.

In response, in-form Multan Sultans opener and legendary Australian batter Steve Smith was dismissed for just a run-a-ball five by Mohammad Amir. Despite losing an early wicket, the Sultans franchise attained full command, largely owing to an electrifying half-century from Sahibzada Farhan.

The cricketer shared a quick 110-run partnership for the second wicket with Josh Philippe, where the Australian stumper himself composed 56 runs off just 30 balls with six boundaries and three sixes at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
