Sooryavanshi Holds No Bars
In fact, if one looks into the T20 format, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored an 11-ball 50 to smash almost all of the records and become only the second person after Dipendra Singh Airee to score the fastest fifty.
Sooryavanshi surpassed players like Yuvraj Singh, Quinton de Kock, and even Abhishek Sharma if compared to T20I rankings to become the second person on the list as he helped India post a total of 76 runs inside just four overs.
Iconic Fifty Breaks Massive Record As Internet Showers Praise
Sooryavanshi came to open with Punjab Kings' fame Priyansh Arya, and the duo lived up to their reputation with a firebrand performance. With no limitations, Sooryavanshi slammed six boundaries and five sixes to complete his half-century while batting at a strike rate of 450.00.
Bowlers Mohamed Shiraj and Dulaj Samuditha were the ones who got the most beatings from Sooryavanshi. The mammoth partnership between Arya and Sooryavanshi already gave India a solid advantage over the opponents at their home ground, Dambulla.

This iconic mayhem from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi didn't go unrecognised, as the internet showered praise on the young sensation who rocked IPL 2026 with his record-shattering season.
Let's take a look at how the internet reacted:
The Damage Done By Sooryavanshi Heroics
Sri Lanka A opted to bowl first in the final of the Tri-Nation A Series, hoping to make early inroads. Instead, India A's opening pair of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Priyansh Arya proved fatal.
Sooryavanshi, smashed 94 runs from just 29 balls at an astonishing strike rate of 324.14. Priyansh Arya played the perfect supporting role, scoring 39 off 29 deliveries with six boundaries and a six. Together, the pair added 132 runs for the opening wicket in only 8.5 overs, putting India A in complete control.
Sri Lanka A finally found a breakthrough when Sahan Arachchige dismissed Vaibhav for 94, denying the youngster a remarkable century. Dulaj Samuditha then removed Priyansh shortly after, leaving India A at 136/2. The wickets briefly slowed the scoring rate, although the damage had already been done.
India A Cruise Comfortably In Final
At the time of writing, India A are 146/2 after 12.4 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad is unbeaten on 4 from 10 balls, while captain Tilak Varma is batting on 6 from 8 deliveries.
With plenty of batting depth still available and more than seven overs remaining, India A are well placed to post a massive total in the tournament final.
Sri Lanka A's bowlers have struggled throughout the innings. Mohamed Shiraz, Kugadas Mathulan and Dulaj Samuditha have all conceded runs at over 13 per over, while only Vijayakanth Viyaskanth managed to keep things tight during his solitary over.
