PBKS Strongest XI vs MI- IPL 2026 [Source: AP]
Punjab Kings are all set to host Mumbai Indians in the 58th clash of the IPL 2026 season. The match will be held at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 14 at 7:30 PM IST.
The Mumbai Indians are already out of the playoff race after they lost a last-ball thriller against RCB at Raipur last week. Still, they will be keen to fight for their pride.
On the other hand, the stakes are high for PBKS in this game, as their playoff qualification odds took a huge hit with four back-to-back losses. They dropped to the fourth spot on the points table with 13 points in 11 games.
For Punjab, their bowling has repeatedly failed to defend big totals. Hence, that will be an area of concern that Shreyas Iyer will need to address.
Apart from that, the franchise has also come under heavy criticism lately for the unprofessional conduct of players. All things combined, the upcoming game against MI becomes crucial for PBKS.
On that note, let’s see what Punjab Kings’ strongest XI will be against the Mumbai Indians.
Punjab Kings Playing XI vs MI - IPL 2026, Match 58
Top Order - Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Shreyas Iyer
Recently, Prabhsimran Singh was criticised for allegedly putting on 10 kgs of weight as journalists accused him of being unprofessional. Due to these revelations, speculations about Singh’s future in the team were raised.
However, currently, PBKS’ best bet for an explosive opening duo is Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. The duo have given strong starts to the team in the tournament, and with playoffs at stake, Punjab would avoid taking any risks.

At no. 3 in the PBKS Playing XI vs MI, captain Shreyas Iyer will back himself undoubtedly. He has scored 392 runs in 10 innings with a 56.00 average.
Middle Order - Cooper Connolly, Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge
In the middle order of the PBKS Playing XI vs MI, Cooper Connolly has been an anchor, scoring 415 runs in the tournament so far. When paired with Iyer, the duo can exploit any opposition on a given day.
Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh and Suryansh Shedge will play the role of lower-order finishers. Shedge has shown great promise despite his inexperience.
Shashank, however, has been ordinary with the bat as well as on the field, as he has dropped 6 catches. Despite this, he will be backed for his six-hitting skills.
Bowlers - Marco Jansen, Ben Dwarshuis, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harpreet Brar
For fast bowling duties, Punjab Kings will trust Marco Jansen, Ben Dwarshuis and Arshdeep Singh. Yash Thakur did grab two wickets in the last game but conceded a lot of runs. And at this time, PBKS needs an extra spinner.
Hence, Harpreet Brar should come in place of Thakur. Brar has not played much this season, but he can get breakthroughs in the middle overs and support Yuzvendra Chahal.
Arshdeep has also regained form, as he picked 2 wickets in the last game for just 21 runs. Dwarshuis was also expensive in the previous clash. Hence, if PBKS wants to back Yash Thakur after all, Ben could face the cut.
But either Yash Thakur or Ben Dwarshuis should get a chance to feature in the PBKS Playing XI vs MI.
PBKS Playing XI vs MI - Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Shreyas Iyer (c), Cooper Connolly, Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Marco Jansen, Ben Dwarshuis, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harpreet Brar
