Virat Kohli Spotted Wearing Special Device [Source: AFP]
Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli grabbed attention during the IPL 2026 clash between RCB and MI, but not for his batting. Instead, a unique device in his hand led to a social media frenzy.
RCB hosted the Mumbai Indians at Raipur last week and beat them by 2 wickets in a last-ball thriller. As Bengaluru had a nervy finish, Kohli, sitting in the dugout, was watching every ball keenly.
Virat Kohli spotted with an electronic counting device
Meanwhile, fans spotted Virat Kohli sitting with a unique device on his finger during the RCB vs MI game. According to reports, the device is a simple digital finger counter commonly used for counting repetitions while chanting prayers or meditation mantras.
The gadget is worn like a ring and includes a small digital display along with a button that increases the count each time it is pressed.
It could be related to Kohli’s faith in spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj, who had earlier mentioned similar counters during one of his sermons, where he advised devotees to use them while chanting God’s name regularly.

Soon after Virat Kohli was seen with the device, social media users started linking it to spirituality, meditation and mental focus.
Reports further stated that similar finger counter devices are easily available online and in local markets at very affordable prices, often costing under ₹100. However, the exact model used by Virat Kohli remains unknown.

Virat had a rough outing against the Mumbai Indians
However, earlier in the game, Virat Kohli had a tough outing against the Mumbai Indians as he departed on a golden duck while chasing 167 runs for RCB.
Facing Deepak Chahar in the first over of the second innings, Kohli was looking to hit over mid-off, but extra bounce deceived him as he edged to Raj Bawa, thus walking back without scoring a single run.
Interestingly, this marked Kohli’s second consecutive duck. Against LSG, Prince Yadav bowled Virat Kohli to send him back on a 2-ball duck.
Regardless of the recent failures, Kohli’s form has been stellar in the IPL 2026 season. In 11 games, he has scored 379 runs at a 42.11 average and a 163 strike rate.
RCB are favourites to qualify for the playoffs
Having said that, RCB are most likely to qualify for the playoffs of the IPL 2026 season. Currently, they are seated at the second spot on the points table with 14 points in 11 games.
To qualify for the knockouts, RCB need to win one more game out of their remaining three fixtures, which appears to be a fairly easy job for the defending champions.
They will face KKR next at Raipur, followed by a clash against Punjab Kings at Dharamsala and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Uppal Stadium.
