Peshawar Zalmi will be back in action for their second match of PSL 2026 on March 31, at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, as they take on the Lahore Qalandars at 7:30 PM (IST).
Moving into the match, the Babar Azam-led Zalmi have started their PSL 2026 with a fantastic 215-run chase against the Rawalpindiz at the same venue. Mohammad Haris, followed by several middle-order batters, played a role in the big chase, winning the match by 5 wickets.
On the other hand, Islamabad United lost their opening encounter against the Multan Sultans, failing to defend 172 at the same venue, despite Mark Chapman and Salman Irshad doing well. Currently, the Peshawar Zalmi are placed fourth on the table, while Islamabad United are 7th.
As the Zalmi look to go to the top of the PSL 2026 points table, we explore their playing XI against Islamabad United.

Top-order- Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Haris (wk), Kusal Mendis
The opening duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris will continue to bat together against the United, after their 78-run partnership in the previous match in 8.4 overs. Babar Azam scored 39(28) with four fours and a six, while Hari got 47 off 28 with four fours and two sixes.
Sri Lankan number 3 will bat at 3 for the Peshawar Zalmi, following his high-impact 31 off 17 with a four and two sixes in the successful chase in their PSL 2026 opener.
While both Haris and Mendis can keep the wickets, Haris will have the onus, like in their last match, to do the job again.

Middle-order and Allrounders- Aaron Hardie, Michael Bracewell, Abdul Samad, Farhan Yousaf, Aamer Jamal
The middle-order will be led by the duo of Aaron Hardie and Michael Bracewell, slated at 4 and 5. Hardie struggled to get going against Rawalpindiz but will be backed after the win, and he will be followed by Michael Bracewell, who scored a match-winning 35 in just 17 balls with three fours and two sixes.
The 28-year-old Abdul Samad, with a career T20 strike rate of 149.48, lived up to his reputation in their first PSL 2026 match and scored 33 runs at a strike rate of 300 with four towering sixes. He will share the finishing responsibility with Aamer Jamal, following his 17* (5) and Farhan Yousaf.
Yousaf has played 8 T20 matches so far with 155 runs at 191.35, but is yet to bat in a PSL fixture, despite making his debut in the last match. In this middle order, Hardie, Bracewell and Jamal can bowl a full quota of four overs.
Bowlers- Sufiyan Muqeem, Shoriful Islam, Ali Raza
The bowling lineup will be led by the x-factor spinner, Sufiyan Muqeem, who only conceded 28 runs in a match, where 432 runs were scored in 39.1 overs; however, he didn’t get any wickets. Bangladesh’s Shoriful Islam, who made his Zalmi debut in the last match, bowled a spell of 0/31 (4), will continue to lead the pace attack in the second game.
The teenager, Ali Raza, who has impressed in 10 matches played in PSL, scalping 14 wickets, will be the final player of the Peshawar Zalmi XI vs Islamabad United on Tuesday. In their PSL 2026 opener, he bowled three overs for 2/42.
