The runner-ups from the tournament, New Zealand, are set to host their semi-finals nemesis, South Africa, in the first of the five-match T20I series, starting Sunday evening. Since the start of 2025, Mitchell Santner has been one of the prominent finishers in world cricket, with a T20I strike rate of 163.06 at an average of 40.22 for his 362 runs. He also batted well in the T20 World Cup, scoring crucial runs against Sri Lanka in the Super 8 stage.

will face the 19-year-old exciting pacer Nqobani Mokoena, who picked 9 (second most) wickets at the death in the recent SA20 season. With a chance to improve the national selectors in the absence of the main bowlers, Mokoena would like to grab this opportunity and stop the Blackcaps skipper from going all guns blazing on Sunday.
