For match 8 of the PSL 2026 season, Multan Sultans will face Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 1st, Wednesday. The clash will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore at 7:30 PM IST.

Hyderabad will be under pressure as they’ve lost both their games till now, while Multan will be eyeing extending their winning momentum forward.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans began the PSL 2026 campaign on a winning note by crushing Islamabad United in their opening fixture. 

Skipper Ashton Turner and Josh Phillipe contributed with a crucial 43 and 55 runs, respectively, while Momin Qamar chipped in three wickets. That collective performance allowed the Sultans to seal a 5-wicket win.

On the other hand, Hyderabad Kingsmen are still looking for their maiden PSL victory. In the first game, the batters collapsed in a 200-run chase to collapse to just a 130-run total.

Then, in the second game against Quetta Gladiators, the batting struggles were exposed again as the Kingsmen finished 134/8 in a 175-run chase.

Hence, coming into his game, Hyderabad Kingsmen will have much to prove compared to Multan Sultans.

Top Order - Sahibzada Farhan, Steve Smith, Josh Phillipe

Sahibzada Farhan is expected to continue to open with legend Steve Smith in the Multan Sultans Playing XI vs Hyderabad Kingsmen. While Farhan failed in the previous game by getting dismissed on just 2 runs, Smith appeared firm, scoring 31 off 23 balls.

Both openers are strong hitters and can dominate the powerplay. Farhan, especially, can hit towering sixes against the pace, which is a key asset.

At no. 3 in the Multan Sultans Playing XI, Multan Sultans will back wicket-keeper Josh Phillipe. He led the Sultans’ chase in the previous game by scoring 55 off 35 balls. He also succeeded in stumping with the gloves.
