Afghanistan Predicted Playing XI vs Zimbabwe [Source: AFP]
Afghanistan is all set to play Zimbabwe in the second T20I match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on October 29. The match is set to go live for fans from 8 PM IST, and the hosts, led by captain Ibrahim Zadran, are willing to take on the visitors after their dominant win in the first game.
Afghanistan won by 37 runs in the first T20I after defending a target of 178 against Zimbabwe. Now, as they are on their way to play the second game of the three-match T20I series, they will be aiming to bag a win and seal the deal in turn.
To do so, the team needs to field some of its best possible players in the playing XI. Let's take a look at the best players Afghanistan can field against Zimbabwe in the 2nd T20I match.
Top Order: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran (c), Sediqullah Atal, Mohammad Akram Zazai
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the worthy T20 opener, will be opening for Afghanistan in the second T20 match as well, alongside the captain Ibrahim Zadran himself.
Although Gurbaz couldn't produce a decent score in the first match, neither could Zadran, the two of them are vital cogs as openers of the team and will continue in the playing eleven.
Following them will be Sediqullah Atal and Mohammad Akram Zazai. Sediqullah Atal, too, failed to produce a decent knock for his team, getting dismissed for just two runs. However, he is one of the most prominent and explosive top-order batters for the team and will be hungry for a bounce-back.
Mohammad Akram failed to make a mark, scoring only four runs in the first outing. However, the 26-year-old has 1,261 runs in T20 games from 49 matches, and with a strike rate of 146.96 in the same format, he will be back to shine in the upcoming clash.
Middle Order and All-Rounders: Shahidullah Kamal, Azmatullah Omarzai, Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai, Rashid Khan
Meanwhile, Shahidullah Kamal will be taking the No. 5 spot. Since he anchored the total top-order crumble of Afghanistan in the first match, he steadied the ship for Afghanistan with his 46-run knock, and being a solid all-rounder, he also took one wicket while bowling at an average of 12.00.
Following Shahidullah will be Azmatullah Omarzai. Although he couldn't produce any explosion with his bat, he scalped two wickets for his team. That makes him a vital presence in the playing eleven.
Alongside Omarzai, Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai, who posted the top score for the team with 52 runs, will be one of the pillars of the middle-order batting.
He will be followed by Rashid Khan, who can occasionally pinch-hit. He is capable of slamming multiple boundaries and sixes, despite being a spin legend. In the previous match, he scored 30 runs from just 10 deliveries by hitting four sixes and one boundary to help Afghanistan reach a total of 177.
Bowlers: Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi
The bowling department, meanwhile, will be led by Fazalhaq Farooqi. The 26-year-old left-arm pacer bagged three wickets for the team, troubling the top and lower middle order.
Alongside Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad will be assisting in the spin department, while Omarzai will be assisting Farooqi with pace bowling.
Afghanistan will remain spin-heavy, with Rashid Khan also adding to the advantage. Notably, Omarzai took two wickets, Mujeeb took two wickets, and Rashid Khan also bagged two scalps to crumble Zimbabwe's batting order.
