Mass protests are currently taking place in central Delhi, with young students and college-goers gathering together to demand the resignation of India’s Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan.
While most of the cricketing fraternity, social media influencers, and Bollywood celebrities have refrained from taking any side in the massive rally, Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian cricketer, has recently broken his silence on the matter.
Taking to his official social media handle, he shared his opinion on the CJP protests arranged by the Cockroach Janta Party in front of Jantar Mantar in Delhi for the betterment and future of education in India.
Yuvraj Singh shares stance on CJP protests
Taking to his official social media handle on Instagram, Yuvraj Singh, who was recently present at the iconic Lord's ground, shared an important message directed towards the students and protestors in Delhi.
"To every child, student, woman and man: you deserve the opportunity to learn in peace, grow with safety, and chase your dreams. Your well-being is the foundation of a brighter India. Let's come together to build communities of care, opportunity and hope. Through dialogue, we can find an amicable solution for the sake of India's future," Singh wrote.
Although Singh does not publicly share any political interest in any party, there had earlier been rumours of him being approached to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contest elections from Gurdaspur, Punjab.
Yuvraj, though, dismissed those rumours and stressed the fact that all he is interested in is the welfare of people across India through social causes and not via any political campaign or party.

CJP protests gain massive momentum amid hunger strike chaos
Meanwhile, the protests in central Delhi had taken a brutal turn by Monday. What started as a peaceful gathering in support of the hunger strike of Ladakhi engineer Sonam Wangchuk turned into a violent affair as the police and RAF resorted to a lathi charge on students.
At least 60 people were injured by Monday, with more being added to the list every hour. At the current moment, the police have barricaded the Jantar Mantar area, from where Sonam Wangchuk was taken away by the police after his 20-day hunger strike.
Notably, opposition leaders like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other senior leaders also visited the area to encourage the protest. While the agitation increased every day, Singh’s statement was clearly aimed at the students who were participating in the protest.
For the unaware, no other Indian cricketer like Virat Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar have shared any of their opinions on this matter yet.
Yuvraj Singh and his social welfare works
As Yuvraj pleaded for the welfare of the students, he also expressed his concern that he wanted the students to remain safe from any violent charges by the police in Delhi.
Yuvraj Singh has always been philanthropic in nature. After surviving cancer, he founded the YouWeCan charity organisation, through which cancer awareness, early detection screening, treatment support, and survivor empowerment are promoted.
The non-profit organisation also provides financial aid and survivor scholarships to the needy, which further underlines the degree of care and empathy Yuvraj has for the young generation and for students.
