The injury list for Chennai Super Kings is getting longer and longer. The five-time winners have dealt another massive blow in their ongoing IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Men in Yellow already have MS Dhoni struggling for full fitness and amid this, India's World Cup winning batter has joined the injured list for CSK in IPL 2026.

Ayush Mhatre Suffers Injury vs SRH

The latest to enter the injury list is Ayush Mhatre. The 18-year-old, who is having a wonderful tournament, pulled his hamstring. The incident occured on the 3rd ball of the 5th over, when Mhatre hobbled while completing a run.

The right-handed batter was in a lot of pain, following which he ideally should have walked off the field retired-hurt. However, Mhatre made a special request to the physios and urged them to allow him to continue.

Mhatre batted despite pain and seemed like he wanted to utilise the powerplay while battling pain.

CSK's IPL 2026 Marred With Injuries

Before the start of IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings were hit with couple of blows. MS Dhoni was ruled out for the first six matches due to side-strain injury. Further, Dewald Brevis was also ruled out for the first three matches because of same injury as Thala.

Later, Khaleel Ahmed suffered an hamstring injury, following which he was ruled out of the tournament. So far, the Men in Yellow have not named any replacement for the left-arm seamer.

Also, even before the start of the tournament, CSK suffered a blow when Nathan Ellis was ruled out of the tournament. Chennai named Spencer Johnson as a replacement, but the Australia seamer is yet to recover from his injury, which also drew criticism.
