On Saturday, Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns against Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. The visitors won the toss and asked SRH to bat first. The decision turned out to be a nightmare as Abhishek Sharma went berserk and shattered plethora of IPL records.
Notably, Abhishek Sharma, who opened the innings alongside Travis Head, went all guns blazing and slammed a 15-ball fifty. The southpaw slammed five fours and four sixes.

As mentioned above, Abhishek Sharma slammed a 15-ball fifty. He broke his own record to slam the fastest half-century for SRH in IPL history. Previously, Travis Head and Abhishek both held the record for 16-ball 50.

Not just did Abhishek Sharma score the fastest fify of the season, but also completed 2000 IPL runs. Notably, before the start of the match, the southpaw required just 55 runs to complete this feat. Abhishek reached the milestone in just 80 innings and is the second- fastest to 2000 runs in IPL by balls.

Not only did Abhishek shattered SRH's record tally, but he also scored the joint-fastest 50 of IPL 2026. Notably, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also scored a 15-ball fifty, a feat he achieved twice this season.

Abhishek Sharma's IPL 2026 Season So Far
Abhishek Sharma started IPL 2026 on a low as he scored 7 (8) vs RCB. However, he returned to form in the next match with a 40+ score. Sharma's consistency has been a concern as he scored a golden duck against Lucknow Super Giants.
Sharma has had a mixed IPL season so far as he already has two ducks in the season and also two fifty-plus scores. Therefore, it is either a miss or hit for the southpaw.
