Josh Inglis was purchased by the Lucknow Super Giants for INR 8.6 crore at the IPL 2026 auction. Despite being partially unavailable due to his wedding in early April 2026, the Australian wicketkeeper-batter drew intense bidding to join coach Justin Langer's team.

According to the latest reports, Josh Inglis is expected to join his IPL franchise LSG by the 4th of May. He has not been available for the first half of the season because he had planned his wedding for mid-April. He got married on April 18 and will spend a few more weeks away from action before he travels to India.
Last season, playing for Punjab Kings, Inglis scored 278 runs at a strike rate of 162.57 but was released from the squad ahead of the 2026 auction.

Considering that Inglis is touted to join the LSG squad on May 4, he will definitely not play the Lucknow Super Giants vs Rajasthan Royals, match number 32 of the IPL 2026, today.
It is worth noting that so far into the tournament, LSG have relied on a limited number of overseas players in the batting department, including Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram, and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Josh Inglis.
